A player that sits with a full stack at NL100 HU will play about 150 hands an hour * .30 a hand (this is in the old system!) divided by 2 = $22.5

Meh... how often does that even happen any more though? A better analogy, because there are like 1,000x more of them, is the player who enters a $100 + $11 tournament and plays for 1-2 hours.

Also all of these Amaya bitch threads would not exist if all of you checked out the health of the games at Bovada after they completely stopped catering to Regs. It's like 2004 over there, and it has been sustainable.

Shortsightedness, self-centeredness, and fear is what is motivating most of you guys to think illogically about all of this. Realize these changes were inevitable, that PS held out as long as they could, much longer than any other site, and you will find peace with the fact that the industry has shifted how it looks at rake, players, and how profits are actually generated. Some of you will have to find another job and, as a result, those that don't will have healthier games for years to come.

Eh, I could bet money that he will make a statement along the lines of "nobody is being forced to play on Pokerstars".
He will also claim that the site making more money is good because it allows them to put more money into advertising bringing more new players to the site.
I'd be very surprised if he actually spoke out against this in a fair and honest way. It does not affect him at all.

Surely if DN quits it will be good for Amaya in the long run? Yes he is very good for PR and promoting the site, however he is still only really known within the poker world/to people that have already heard of Pokerstars. Most of their PR/add stuff is done through people like Nadal nowadays. It must cost them a decent chunk of money to keep him on the team; we have already seen them ruthlessly get rid of quite a few long-term Team Pro members.

Also I doubt that DN would say bad things about stars if he left, or actively tell people to move to another site/join another site as a pro etc. He has been one of the main ambassadors for stars for a long time now.

Finally, I am not very well informed on this and I obv can't speak for DN, but afaik it seems like he has similar views to Amaya with regards to regs being bad for the site. So he seems like a pretty good person to be the face of the new-look company going forwards.

Never gonna happen. Our efforts are best focused elsewhere.

He will conclude that this is a business decision. That it is best for the health of the site and this the community. He will word it in such a way that sounds like he feels for those affected. In reality, the other sites need to compete aggressively and give players a reasonable option to play other than Stars. Better software and rake structures. Stars will have no choice but to lower rake if and when they see their numbers drop and their competitors numbers rise. Paradise Poker used to blow away Stars. The kings of internet poker can be knock off their thrown. Look at IBM, Kodak, Motorola, The NY Times etc. Change happens fast when a better product comes to market.

He's just going to reassert that PS is still the best in the business and refer to all the people who continue to play on it despite other options. He'll say expanding offerings (Spin) helps expand business. Won't address rake at any length.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. Doesn't this just effect hyper-turbo SNG's? and high-stakes NLH? I bet most of the people whining in this thread don't even play in the games that are having a rake adjustment.

Good luck with that he is probably living pay stub to pay stub. How many sponsored pros have gone belly up when they got their sponsorship taken away from them. This is a guy that rented a movie trailer for the World Series of Poker. Does this sound like a guy that picks up loose change on the street or returns empties to save a buck?

While I am in United States and haven't followed the changes closely its amazing how many idiots post in this thread saying Daniel Negreanu owes you nothing! This is a guy who has been very vocal about how poker is dying and how its the responsibility of internet players to act cordially to the fish at the tables to make them feel more welcome. He goes on and on about how we can make poker a better game and always wants to act like he is standing up for the little guy. He already has made tons of money and doesn't need this job to survive. If he just stands by and lets Amaya turn poker into a casino game he deserves to be shunned but to be honest I always thought the guy was a huge fake flake to begin with so...

LOL at anyone thinking Daniel is either a) rich enough or b) dumb enough to place "what's good for poker" above the huge amounts of money Stars pays him to abide by his contract. He didn't get to be one of the most successful players in the world by checking down the nuts on the river because his opponent is a nice guy.

The world of online poker has changed massively in the 15-20 years or so that it has been in existence. Monopolies eventually get toppled - in business, politics,sport etc.
