There is a fundraiser held every year in Chicago in February to benefit Special Olympics Illinois. About 25 people raise about $100,000 from this event where they jump into Lake Michigan once an hour for 24 hours straight. All the major news stations cover it, it is a really cool event and benefits a great cause. I have done it a few times, not sure if I'm doing it this year.
I cannot help but think of the opportunity cost to the other two poker players...$6k worth of lap dances from scandinavian strippers wasted instead on a lame Peter Eastgate dare.
Why would you not do this for 6k ? It's not dangerous, worst happens is you might be ill.
and it's 6k for like 20 minutes of freezing cold running. Not too bad imo.
