Here's some news that MIGHT (or MIGHT NOT) be relevant to an imminent PokerStars Pennsylvania launch.

Twitch has partnered with Jason Somerville to stream exclusive coverage of NFL "Thursday Night Football" games beginning with the Week 10 Chargers @ Raiders matchup on Nov 7th.

https://www.pokercentral.com/article...on-somerville/

Matt Berkey and Christian Soto discussed this on Monday night's vlogcast (ep. #21) [42:51-47:46]

Although they didn't specifically mention the potential PokerStars PA launch, this news could lead one to believe that if PokerStars PA is going to happen this year, on or before November 7th would be a logical time frame?

Also, this could be a huge deal for cross-selling of poker/sports betting in the U.S. IMO Jason will be amazing in this new role. I look forward to watching the games and seeing how he entertains a whole new audience. The Week 11 TNF game will be in Pennsylvania (Browns @ Steelers) on Nov 14th.

PGCB Executive Director Kevin O'Toole just advised the Board that he anticipates the launch of online poker within a time frame of "three to six weeks."

I'll come in to edit this post or with a follow-up post to give direct quote. More or less this will be at the 1:35:00 timestamp once the video is edited and re-uploaded. Here's the live stream of this month's PGCB meeting that's still in progress.

"Moving forward in the short term, Board staff anticipates over the next three to six weeks to implement additional online platforms -- both in the areas of sports wagering and for interactive gaming activity. And we are anticipating the implementation of poker within those online gaming platforms."

-PGCB Executive Director Kevin O'Toole (Oct 30th, 2019)

It took Delaware and Nevada something like 8 months to offer a merged player experience after the two states agreed to it via the Internet Gaming Compact. First step now is for Pennsylvania to join the IGC.

Pokerstars on Monday? Sounds awesome. I'll believe it when I can log back into my PS account. Or am I gonna need a new handle?

In NJ, we couldn't use our old screen name, so it's surely going to be the same in PA.

If it's like NJ, which I imagine it is, you don't have to be a resident of the state. You just need to be physically within the state's borders when you're playing. They determine that via geolocation software.

Incorrect. You had a choice where you could use your old name or create a new one. If you used your old name, you would no longer be able to log onto the ROW site.

Do you have to be within the state to register/deposit/withdrawal?

I'm assuming on the regulated sites withdrawing and depositing is much easier than off shore sites? Can you deposit with a CC? Withdrawals direct debit to your bank account?

Bank deposits and withdrawals are both possible.

In NJ, I don't believe you need to be in the state while registering. Not something I had to deal with. Their help page indicates that there are deposit/withdrawal methods available to those outside of NJ.

Although credit cards (VISA/Mastercard) are shown as a deposit method, individual banks that carry your card (even major national banks) may have their own policy that won't let you deposit on a gambling site. I deposited cash at the Resorts cage in AC. There are several other deposit and withdrawal options shown, including Skrill, PayPal, Instant eChecks, etc. CC is not shown as a withdrawal option.

Good news at last for the US market. Thanks for the announcements. I choose to believe “in 3-6 weeks” because “11/04 soft launch” is more likely to test casino-type poker games.

Great news!

Question for NJ players:

when regulated poker launched in NJ, I know most of the offshore sites like ACR and Ignition stopped allowing players from that state to play on their platform.

was their any issue with cashouts for those players? basically i'm wondering if i should cash out ASAP or if I can play down to the wire before switching over?

very excited

https://pokerfuse.com/news/poker-roo...will-be-going/

"Before going fully operational in the state, PokerStars will have to go through the testing period that is expected to last two to three days.

During this period, PGCB will carry out various tests including testing the functionality of certain services linked to the player experience including geolocation services, payment processing, and responsible gaming measures.

Assuming the testing period goes well, PokerStars could be given the green light to go fully live upon completion of the soft launch."

I remember cashing out of Bovada with no problem, but I can't remember the exact timing. I believe NJ even blocked access to their site even via the client software, so if you want to do it through ACR's and Ignition's clients, I would do it early in case PA blocks access to them.
