Breaking: partypoker US Network to Debut in Pennsylvania with BetMGMPoker and Borgata Poker

The launch of two online poker rooms in Pennsylvania is another step forward for legal regulated online poker in the US.

"The partypoker US Network will be the home to the second and third online poker rooms in Pennsylvania starting Tuesday April 27, according to a statement issued to pokerfuse from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board."

"If the legal hurdles to interstate online poker networks are cleared, not only will we see more players flock to the tables because of the bigger tournament guarantees and the wider selection of games that comes with a bigger potential player pool, but we will likely also see the partypoker US network launch in Nevada (where it is already licensed) and the first online poker room launch in West Virginia."

Interstate sharing of player pools has got to be their next aspiration. A pool of NV, NJ, PA, and MI has nearly 35 million residents. But it's a painfully slow process to get there.

Pokerstars has competition. They will start to lose their player base cause they offer crappy rewards.

Stars NJ has competition also and still has crappy rb.

Soft launch is really soft looks like zero games are running. Was able to make an account, allegedly, but cannot log in to it. I assume it's the same for others.

WSOP will also be launching in PA soon. Until PA joins with other states having three sites is going to be terrible for players. I would expect action to be dead everywhere with a very small player pool split between three different sites.

Need them to hurry up on joining NJ NV MI etc.

If you already have an account with partypoker NJ, I understand it's a completely separate account you create in PA. Can you use the same username? If so what would happen when the two states merge?

Similarly, can you create separate accounts with betmgm PA and borgata pa (similar to different WPN skins) to take advantage of bonuses on each, and then just can't be logged in to both at the same time?

Found this post online:

The two-day test period is standard procedure for the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB). All operators must go through the test as a last check before they open fully to the public. As soon as the test is over, adult poker aficionados anywhere within the state borders can try out the new poker rooms.

July 12th launch date for WSOP.com Pennsylvania. Twitter posts hint that PA service will be ring-fenced on the launch date, so no shared liquidity with NJ/NV/DE or MI/WV yet.

New software? Assuming MI will be launching soon as well. It would be smart of them to get the state compacts going by WSOP this fall, I'd bet they do. So it begins....

Exclusive: 888 Eyes Online Poker Expansion into Three States in 2021
With Pennsylvania and Michigan launches imminent with its partner WSOP, West Virginia looks like the third state on the cards.

"WSOP.com, through its partnership with 888, is set to go live in Pennsylvania next week and in Michigan shortly thereafter.

The launches will mark the first time that US players will use the gaming company’s new Poker 8 software, which will power the WSOP PA and WSOP MI online poker rooms."

Sherman said 888 is “hoping that Pennsylvania and Michigan join the existing compact sometime in the near term. We’re looking to launch that five- or six-state interstate poker liquidity network that we all think will be a milestone in US gaming.”

“Between now and year’s end, we’re hoping to be in, I want to carefully say, three additional states,” he went on to say. “But being more ambitious than that, [we want] to get in as many states as possible, especially with Poker 8.”

With the imminent launch of the WSOP PA and WSOP MI poker rooms, it is safe to say that Michigan and Pennsylvania, coupled with Delaware, Nevada and New Jersey, would complete the “five-state compact” suggested by Sherman."

"A decision by Michigan, Pennsylvania or both states to join MSIGA would be a huge boost to the interstate 888/WSOP network, the only one of its kind operating in the US."

"Sherman said that once 888 moves its customers in Delaware, Nevada and New Jersey to the new Poker 8 software, “any state, whether it’s Connecticut or West Virginia, that already offers poker licenses…and will be looking to proactively promote [online poker], will have a ready-made liquidity pool [and a] regulatory framework.”

Can MI or PA easily join the MSIGA? Or does it require the governor/state house/gaming boards to do something?

Overall, a light switch just can't be turned on.

MI/PA is expected to join later this year, or sometime next year.

The precedent is the Nevada - New Jersey pooling of WSOP players under the multi-state compact. The governors and state gaming boards had to approve, and the policies of both states had to be unified. The latter included HUD policy and acceptance by NV that the servers would be physically located within NJ.

I recollect it took close to a year, but having provided a template for future states, it could take less time with respect to WSOP PA and MI.
