Bummer nothing was addressed in yesterday’s meeting, but understandable with the current dynamic situation.

"'While it could happen, that is not something that we could predict in regards to a time frame before the COVID-19 matter, so certainly not something on any radar right now,' PGCB Director of Communications Doug Harbach said."

With the wire act still pending there is a 0% chance of pooling states together.

More surprised that no other rooms have launched in PA. I believe there were 7 online poker licenses purchased. So if you aren't named Party or WSOP this would be a great time to grab some market share.

According to an April 27th article by pokerfuse, WSOP is close to completing the licensing process in Pennsylvania.

https://pokerfuse.com/news/poker-roo...-pennsylvania/

"While no official timeline has been released for the launch of WSOP PA, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has confirmed to pokerfuse that many of the applications required for WSOP.com to go live have been approved, and 888’s iGaming Manufacturer application is currently sitting with the Board’s investigative unit."

WSOP PA Launching as soon as 888poker Finalizes Platform

"Presently, Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware all offer online poker on the 888 network, and Pennsylvania will be joining them to give an additional boost to the shared liquidity which determines the size of the bets."

WTF. lol
Plus they have not even applied for the multi-state agreement, he even says later in the article.

New article by Eric Raskin via Penn Bets.

Harrah's/888/WSOP won't launch (Pennsylvania) by the time online bracelet events begin July 1st.

https://www.pennbets.com/pa-poker-pl...ine-bracelets/

“'888 has yet to be licensed,' Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Communications Director Doug Harbach told Penn Bets, 'and our next [PGCB] meeting in which it could be approved is not scheduled until July 8.'”

"Based on the recent history of online gaming site launch procedures in PA, it seems reasonable to predict that, even if WSOP.com receives approval on July 8, checking off all the boxes necessary to complete soft launch before the end of July is an extreme long shot."

Here is a Penn Bets article (by Eric Raskin) from November 2019 that covers the topic.

However, it doesn't mention anything about PokerStars Zoom being restricted by Pennsylvania state regulators.

https://www.pennbets.com/pokerstars-...-games-coming/

"Pennsylvania’s version of PokerStars launched without a Zoom product. That appears poised to change.

'It’s absolutely our intention to bring Zoom to Pennsylvania,' [FOX Bet president Matt] Primeaux said. 'We are still looking at our overall mix of games based on early player preferences. We fully expect to adjust the poker offering based on what players are telling us with their play. We take being the only legal option for poker players in Pennsylvania seriously, and want to drive the best game experience possible.'"

There was a zoom tourney during PASCOOP, so it can be allowed.

I know you mean for the cash games though. Not sure why the state regs would differ.

Despite their current monopoly on poker in PA, Stars just is slow in implementing new things. Last month they added the Bounty Builder SNGs and now they’ve added mixed game tourneys.

I’d keep emailing them every week. I bet they probably add zoom once they have competition from another site.

Hope so. But then I see streams of people playing zoom pools and I'm like Man the Nl 100 game is way tougher than ours.

I wonder if stars will keep the market lead once wsop launches. I just think that am not sure how it will play out if wsop merges player pools.

Executive Director Kevin O'Toole spoke briefly near the beginning [3:30-5:50], but no mention of online poker.

AGENDA: https://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/fi...a_20200805.pdf (Aug 5, 2020)

The PGCB meeting was only 33 minutes today. The shortest I recall viewing. The instructional quality of these meetings has gone down considerably since social distancing began imo. Nothing to be done about it though... you'll notice the audio cuts out quite a bit, plus obviously there's no video.

Two of the biggest names in Ipoker (888 and Party) are having trouble finalizing their product? The same two products that have been running in NJ for 5+ years?

Something's not adding up man.

Pennsylvania seems to drag its feet a bit and also make the sites wait and wait. They don't seem to be in a big hurry giving out licenses and also go pretty hard making sure all of their own state regs are being followed.

The sites have to establish the operation within the state itself...or something like that. All that Wire Act stuff. They can't operate it remotely from NJ. Has to be physically within Pennsylvania. Different states have their own rules...and seemingly their own pace too. And doing all of this in the COVID-era seems to come with some trepidation from state regulators about going too fast.

Hopefully can get this stuff together soon. Some regulated Pennsylvania options BESIDES PokerStars would certainly be nice.

Caesar's has 16 slots and roulette in PA. Over a year since online casinos went live.

If these companies wanted their online poker live in PA already it would have happened. They're dragging their feet. I wouldn't be surprised to see some of them back out and try to recoup the initial licensing fee they paid.

The next Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2nd.

Although the actual meeting agenda has yet to be published, there is a rough agenda set for the September 1st executive session linked below. It is common for PGCB to hold closed executive sessions a day before the actual public meeting.

https://gamingcontrolboard.pa.gov/fi...a_20200901.pdf

PGCB Executive Director Kevin O'Toole has a 30-minute discussion slot during the September 1st executive session. However, those sessions are closed to the public -- meaning it's unknown if online poker licensing/launching (Valley Forge/partypoker) will be discussed until the Wednesday public meeting.
