Cant believe you are all giving Paul Magriel such a hard time..he is a genuinely nice guy and a friend (and yes he is more than a little quirky).

For the record he has coached Isabelle Mercier at poker prior to her WPT Ladies event win and he was responsible for giving me my introduction to poker via a nine hour lesson on limit hold em at The Sunset Casino in very early July 2001 at the table of a 3/6/9 game which he followed up with a gift of Sklansky's Holdem book for beginners.

For those who dont know or doubt him I can categorically state that if he ever publishes a book on no limit poker it will be up there with the very best of them (and I do not say that lightly) and I feel certain peole like Gus Hansen, David Benyamine and Steve Zolotow would agree with my assertion. Furthermore he is definitely someone with whom I would discuss alternate plays of poker hands.

And finally a bit of background info: He was the youngest ever professor of mathematics in The USA and a US junior Chess champion and has won many major backgammon tournamnts not to mention written the original bible on Backgammon.

He is definitely in the genius bracket academically but also has a problem transferring that to his poker game and the poker table.

None of that has absolutely anything to do with him being gross looking, smelly, and a has to pay for weird looking hooker sex.

No-one is questioning that he's smart or a nice guy, just that he's a smelly ugly f***.

There's also a backgammon forum under General Gambling on 2p2 btw.

This thread is disappointing. There are more pics of Magriel and Stevie Z than there are of moonlight bunnies.
