It depends on the definition of the border between Europe and Asia Politically, the entire Krasnodar krai (region) of Russia is in Europe. Geographically, if the Great Caucasus watershed is assumed to be the border, then Sochi proper is in Asia, and so is the casino, though the rather uninhabited northern part of the Sochi metro is in Europe, making the Greater Sochi a Eurasian city. (Now I'll start referring to immigrants from Tuapse and Sochi as Asians, thanks for the idea )

But as Colin_Piddle said, the visa barrier is a huge turn-off. The income tax will be an even bigger one if its proper enforcement starts.

They could host a big cash game at each of their live tournament stops that all the high rollers typically have been traveling to, hire a host or 2 and have it run perhaps revolving seat style instead of just a set/invite only lineup (if they are worried about it being too much setup/difficulty locking in guaranteed guests)

Party poker big game back in the day was great. Would love to see some thing like that back

That's what I had in mind. Make it a semi pre sign up and a rich whale who wants to be on TV to fill an empty slot.
Having it at the live events works as advertising.

I wouldn't want people to travel. I'd want relatively local players.
As for Russia there's enough rich oligarchs to fill up any table with established pros.
