running a poker room is providing an environment in the most neutral way possible. this does not include moving stuff around based on who is currently watching. but then again ..even stars slippery sloped with their opaque MaxTables policy, didn't they?

they implemented this without making any announcements, hoping no one will notice. party, you might as well rig the RNG to benefit the the casual players since it will be lot harder for you to get caught.

I don't know if anyone stated this, but if party changes back, there will be some really good games for about a month or so with the delusional fish who suddenly became winners.

After a bit more thought, if I'm understanding this correctly in that losing players can join any table but winning players cannot see tables that are "too soft" - this is a sort of "king of the hill" structure to cash games. Bum hunters can't just chill in the lobby and cherry pick soft tables, while regs who start tables and play against each other can benefit from having weaker players join their tables and then having the bum hunters not be able to sit due to the "soft rating" that the weaker players bring. Of course, it's all in the maths of their hiding system, but I would hope it's reasonably intelligently set up. I think this *may* end up being good for the game at the expense of the bum hunters but not all regs, but only time will tell of course.

Break even - Rake = Everyone loses.

Where are you pulling those numbers from - has that been confirmed? It seemed like from the description that it was simply one large pool of losers, and another pool of winners. Also, it looks like losers can join winners' tables, so although it's most certainly a cash grab, it may not be as bad as people think for the non-bumhunter regs.

Gotta love the hipocricy of regs who regard new and inexperienced players as their own personal ATM (to be raided the moment they sit down for their first game), making accusations of greed.

How about one guy in each pool working really hard to improve his game, so he can beat the other players who are just standing still?

Obviously, this would mean that some regs lost money before rake was taken into consideration, which is obviously unfair as making money at poker IS THEIR RIGHT.

Do you not think it is possible for you to play any better than you currently are? Have you given up on improving and just resigned yourself to being a low-stakes bumhunter, pulling that same raise/iso trick that's been working for the last few years on rookies who have no realistic shot?

Lol at beating tough regs and rake by improving infinite. Poker is just not profitable anymore for good players when they only face strong opponents and get raked at the same time. That game is profitable and it was so always because of gamblers and is already on a tough lvl at medium stakes. Everybody can improve his game but some choose not to and just want to gamble. The new unfair PP policy is just a kick in the groins for every hardworking regular. PP should rename their company because it is no Poker anymore they just made a stupid gamble luck game out of it and only the bank makes profit. Hope PP will not get a single license with their rigged software in any serious country.

I don't know if that's the case, but i wouldn't mind a system like that.

i just asked vip support if this only affect cash game tables, they still have no idea this segregation is even happening. said they are still waiting for official confirmation from upper management. but he quoted thier T&C when i asked about how they implement something like this without any announcement first.

HUNL wise i think it might be a good idea in theory as regs won't be able to just wait for fish all day. However, it's so easy to go around the rule that it might suck in the end anyway. I find it hard to believe this was the "next best solution" they could find. Like someone else said, updating their software to this century would be huge for them.

I would say that all those that would normally play on party poker on fridays makes an exception today and not even bother logging into their site just so there traffic figures tell the broader picture that we arn't willing to put up with this nonsense from them

I'm thinking this is like the saying you can shear a sheep many times but you can only skin him once. PP doesn't want their players skinned only to never return. They want to show players that they can win a little once in a while, and a lose a little many times more. I think this is conditioning to get them also hooked onto the casino games like slots, etc. which I would think is a much bigger money maker for them.
