OP doesn't seem to be the scammer. The scammer does a 3 way trade where the scammer gets the money from QL after OP sends money to QL to make it look like QL has OPs "money" Obviously OP fell for it and decides that QL is the one to blame because the person who sent him an email from FTP happened to call himself Richard as well.

Haven't read the last 20 posts or so but did skim and see kevmath asking for info. I just want to say that if this is the guy QL thinks it may be then we need to record his IP and forward it to the proper people. This guy has been a serial scammer for a long time from what I gather (I watch the person to person transfer thread a lot and I've heard of this guy)

I'm willing to help anyway I can. I'm gonna be notifying a guy who's pretty familiar with this scammer and see if he can add anything.

a casino is a private establishment. They can ban anyone for any reason, it doesnt have to be a criminal offense. In QL's case it was because he won money from the casino and they claimed they couldn't make a profit off him. His banishment has since been revoked and he is now allowed to play. At least get your facts straight.

Wow, very confusing I'm trying to make sense of everything.
Here is a version that assumes OP is telling the truth and both he and Brodie has been lied to, tell me if it makes sense please:

-OP is an acquaintance of Quaternion-(known high stakes pro)
-OP has stars account "twatazoid" and FTP account "CursedbyaGypsy"
- He wants to play the FTOPS but can't deposit at FTP so he contacts Quaternion via AIM and asks him for a favor.

Quaternion AIM account is hacked and OP is talking to the hacker.
Hacker tries to scam OP for couple of hundreds,he asks him to send it to ‘Rosendito Aquino’ in the Philippines but it's not possible because Western Union is closed at the time.
But the hacker doesn't give up.
He contacts Brodie and is acting as Quaternion, makes up some kiddie story which comes down to:
Brodie recieves money at stars and is expected to send the money to ‘Rosendito Aquino’ in the Philippines.

Brodie knows he is talking to a hacker but he plays along in order to get more info on the hacker.
Then this happens:

(10:33:08 AM) QL: that's not what you said
(10:33:15 AM) Hacked Quaternion account: let me ask him one sec...
(10:33:36 AM) Hacked Quaternion account: ahh
(10:33:43 AM) Hacked Quaternion account: his ftp name is the one I gave you
(10:33:56 AM) Hacked Quaternion account: no biggie
(10:34:27 AM) Hacked Quaternion account: thats my stars name
my full tilt name is cursedbyagypsy

Brodie contacts FTP and FTP freezes the account "cursedbyagypsy"
Now, the bolded part is probably why Brodie thinks OP IS the hacker and why this thread is so confusing.

Actually, one of the reasons why I'd be inclined to think he's not from America is that he said "9th of August". Americans all say August 9th. Europeans say "9th of August". I'm going to assue Egyptians use the same style as European countries. Subtle distinction, but if he's just trying to play everyone, it's not the kind of thing an American hacker trying to pretend to be from Egpyt would do, unless he's an absolutely amazingly good con-man.

There's a little problem in your first assumption: I have no idea who quaternion is! My friend has a totatlly different name on AIM. What I can think of is that the guy was using to AIMs at the same time.
