Online Poker Software Including Pokertracker and WSOP.com Cheating Their Customers (allegedly) Online Poker Software Including Pokertracker and WSOP.com Cheating Their Customers (allegedly)

05-10-2022 , 05:58 AM
I have played online poker and there were times where I knew that a couple of the other players could see my cards. I got mocked and dismissed when I brought this up on 2+2 but I know what I experienced. I decided to do some research into online poker and didn't use Google this time and instead went with duckduckgo. I didn't get filtered results full of propaganda this time and found some troubling things. First article I read was about people being super used because of trojan virus' being installed on people's computer without them knowing it and then the players create online poker accounts and find the person and super use them. I wonder how much of this goes on because I always thought that the only people that could set that up would be the site itself. We know this happened on UB and probably other places but only has been exposed one or two times. I decided to look at the programs that I had on my computer and ran them through an antivirus website virustotal.com. What I found was absolutely shocking. Of all the poker software programs I had installed on my device, all of them came back positive for a trojan.

WSOP.com = Trojan

Pokertracker4 = Trojan

Holdem Manager = Trojan

Pokersnowie = Trojan

Mammoth Hand Converter = Trojan

These were the only ones that I tested and they all came back positive so I am sure there are a lot more. I just tested what I had on my computer and wasn't trying to find every one that could be out there so I would test the ones on your computer. You would think that legally they wouldn't be able to do this. I filed a complaint with the Nevada Gaming Control Board about WSOP.com being a trojan and they could have cared less. They said they wouldn't be telling me the results of their investigation and that the appropriate department would receive the information I provided. That was months ago and it still hasn't changed and I'm sure never will.

I agree that online poker is shady af but being tagged by a few lists on VirusTotal doesn’t mean much on it’s own.

Many programs come up as false positives.

This doesn't necessarily mean the software you're using is infact a trojan.

Well, that's a relief that the NGCB could have cared less. It would suck to file a complaint and find out they couldn't have cared less. That would have been a total waste of your time.

Did you run the same test on other software installed on your computer?

You might be surprised.

They are telling you that there is a potential for false positives, and you reply with irrelevancies about seeing hole cards and Russ Hamilton.

So because he thinks VirusTotal sometimes has false positives, he sucks at his job as IT manager? LOL, OK. I assume you're some kind of computer professional as well, then?

No, you just started a thread about some positive results on a virus scanning site, and leapt from that to make a thread titled with the accusation that sites are cheating their customers, with zero evidence.

To most of us, his point is pretty obvious - you'll probably find other positive results. IE false positives are a thing.

You think these programs, that thousands of people on this site use have been giving Trojans to their users for years and you just were the first to figure this out?

lol

I have added "(allegedly)" to the thread title since thread titles can be important, accessed via search engines, etc.

I am willing to keep the thread open at the moment but someone may come along later and close it (or possibly delete it). The so-called evidence underlying the allegation seems pretty weak.

OP is on it

Searching those antivirus shows (antivirus name) false positive as one of the most common searches.

So yeah, check other files like people in this thread. You might be surprised.

Also aren't you the person who didn't understand time zones? Never seems to be your fault when you lose money.

Hard to say, because he abandoned the thread once he got some replies. Hopefully he'll be able to find this one again.

Bobo Fett is still at it by scamming the poker community each and every day. People like you are the worst kind of people because you are someone who is supposed to be there to protect people but you are stabbing in the back instead. You are a fake and the worst kind of person. At least a criminal doesn't try to pretend he's not a criminal.

So these are just false positives huh? Nothing to be concerned about right? People just continue to play and get super used. The fact that these companies are making software that installs viruses on your computer is nothing to be concerned with it all. That is your take and your opinion on this so you look even more ridiculous than usual.

No but I didn't see it anywhere so I thought I would try to warn others that didn't know about it. You are someone who knew and didn't say anything? That makes you like Joe Patterno. You are a scumbag too then. Go troll someone else.

There's a shocker. Someone provides real evidence of unethical and shady behavior and this type of information could prevent someone from being cheated so why would you want to keep something like that on the site right? I mean how will everyone get cheated if you leave all these posts up here?

Ah another troll from a poker site that is trying to make it sound like it is my fault. I never said anything about losing money did I? Why did you make that conclusion? Make you should just focus on what I have said instead of things I haven't said. You aren't a real person who plays online poker anyway so your opinion doesn't count for ****.
05-11-2022 , 06:21 AM
So is OP a tech illiterate off his meds or an elaborate troll job?
05-11-2022 , 07:00 AM
Atleast the op username checks out. He is a fish. Allso pretty stupid it seems. Why would anyone believe some random muppet ranting about nonsense that anyone with a brain knows ain't true? Unless muppet is just trolling then mission accomlished.

Do you think one of this site, handling the servors / RNG and all the software part by definition, needs to install a trojan on your computer to know which card you are dealt ?
Are you 8 yrs old, a troll, or very dumb ?

It's funny how you think you've made some kind of revelation.

Do yourself a favour and google 'antivirus false positive'.

Do you really think 4 of the biggest pieces of software used by thousands of people for years has just quietly been infecting users machines with no one noticing.

Also ask yourself, why would WSOP install a trojan to let them see your cards, wouldn't that be completely unnecessary?

Pretty sure we all knew (well, minus one) which course this thread would run. Got there within a day.

@OP: please report back in your other thread if that misunderstanding of time zones solved your problem.
