Yes, you are correct... I used the $22 million from what would generally be considered his best years (late 1990s/early 2000s) because it better illustrated the irrefutable Omahahahahah-esque logic that Jamie Gold was 13 times better a poker player than A-Rod was as baseball player in A-Rod's best seasons.
If I use A-Rod's Yankee years and salaries, the factor is smaller. And that's not as effective because A-Rod wasn't as good a player when his pay jumped to $29MM, plus the last thing I want to do is diminish the greatest poker player in the history of mankind, Jamie Gold.
