I'd never have guessed there was as many as 57 players with 3 or more bracelets.

He still didn't make a big score, but he has 4 cashes in 8 events played.

I think in #14, 15 and 17.

But I feel like he is playing more events too. He is often playing two tournaments at the same time.

In event #16 he pushed blind 6 times in a row, won 5 races and stole blinds once, and went back to event #15 after more than quadrupling his stack in a couple of minutes.

Ivey could well be the best player in the world, but that "pushing blind and hope I get lucky, because anyway I have enough money to spend" is bull**** I think.

Totally Brad Booth'd myself last night. Less scotch, less roulette....more poker. Lesson learned.

Would you really feel that much better if I said "a few minutes"? I'm not sure how you use it in english, but "couple" in french can be used to say a "few", and we could argue that sitting during the 20 minutes break is playing a "few" minutes. The sarcasm was certainly deserved...

you do understand he did this when he was deep in anthor tourney. he didn't want his stack to be blinded dead incase he lost so he would rather get lucky or lose imo.

I think you are both right. What is significant though is that, at this level (buy-in) of play, he is a player with a big edge. So the latter is a fairer comment.

4 cashes out of 8 is a pretty good start. Plus he busted a holdem tourney early with AA vs JJ, and appeared (to my feeble non stud8 expert mind) to make no obvious mistakes in his best end game so far. Plus 3/18 in razz. I'd say that's a pretty damn good start to a series and I hope he makes it 12. "13, 13, 13" doesn't quite have the same ring to it so maybe he'll shut up.

What exactly would you purpose he do? Just blind his stack away to be nice to the people at his table because this money may mean more to them? You are clueless

Hellmuth has actually played in eleven events, but nevertheless is off to a good start. You can check his stats of the 2012 WSOP here.

I'm not a hater, I think he is the best answer for "best poker player". I just think that entering two events at the same time and going all-in blind 6 times in a row in one of the event is a weird way of playing poker. Isn't it?

If you can't really play an event, and have to push your stack blind during breaks just to hope you will get lucky, maybe you shouldn't enter it.

I don't think it's a real problem, there is certainly worst things going on in poker, but I still think it's a weird way of playing a tournament. If you think it's normal, good for you. It's not as if I really care about the matter.

Yes it's terrible. And I'd be shocked if Ivey didn't agree. But he played both for two shots at a bracelet and was deep in one and......

Are roller skates allowed at the Rio? Maybe next time he could speed up his multi-tabling shenanigans.

Re: ***OFFICIAL WSOP SWEAT THREAD***

How do people not get why he would do that? Let's break it down:

- In terms of tournament equity its obviously horrible.

- In terms of bracelet bet equity and the implicit notion that every event he plays is essentially a winner-take-all for at least a couple million, then its a total slam dunk.

Thus, it serves his purposes to try to get lucky and build up a big stack or to bust so that he can focus on the other tourney he's currently deep in. He probably had less than fifteen minutes to try to accomplish this, so playing (or in this case shoving) every hand is massively +EV for his bracelet bets regardless of whether he busts or runs it up.
