Re: ***OFFICIAL WSOP SWEAT THREAD***

are you seriously criticizing the man for taking a long time before making a decision in a massive pot during a $50,000 mixed game mtt (in a game that may be his weakest...) and implying that auto-anything is the smarter thing to do?

Re: ***OFFICIAL WSOP SWEAT THREAD***

Yop - you make it sound like every decision is super simple auto shove. So Deeb is autoshoving any 4 on the button because he knows the russion is auto-isolating. Well, if that's all so true then why wouldn't Abe flat the intial raise 100% of the time with his Aces in that spot? Oh, but wait - you also said Abe never has aces in that spot...?

It's not that hard to figure out that he was deciding whether to give up a small edge (preflop equities run super close in PLO), since it would risk his tournament life, if he has a bigger edge in the other games (which is likely since his strength is the limit games, not nl or pl). Folding would have left him with tons of room to play his best games.

You could have taken 30 seconds to think about that instead of instantly deciding "OMG HE WAS THINKING ABOUT FOLDING ACES PREFLOP IN OMAHA HE MUST BE BAD"

Re: ***OFFICIAL WSOP SWEAT THREAD***

pokernews also states abe was arguing with the russian the entire day.
first abe was mocking the guy, then the russian slowrolled him, then abe did that.
this + the "giving away an edge" is enough to explain it for me.

- there is dead money in the pot
- shaundeeb never has AA, he's gambooling with any 4 at this point
- the russian can and will isolate deeb with most of his range including very dominated hands like AKQT or KKxx, Mosseri can't really have AA in this spot
- in the worst case scenario where the russian also have AA and deeb a rundown, then it should be pretty much neutral ev with the dead money
- his double trap with AA worked perfectly

It's hard to guess the thinking process of a livetard in cases like this, but if he was tanking because he really thought his edge in the other games is so huge that he can allow himself to pass on +EV spots like this, then he should just fold out all hands in plo. What if he could topsetmine cheaply with his aces, and the flop came A65ss? Should he also bet fold because he could be flipping vs a wrap and a fd? It seems ******ed to have this thinking process and to register in a tournament with NL and PLO rounds.

If he was tanking because he was not sure how profitable this spot was, then it means he's like most livetards, unable to assign ranges or use basic maths .

If he had a brainfreeze (that would explain the ******ed CALL decision after thinking for 15 minutes about shoving or folding) because of the pressure of the players around the table or whatnot, then he has nothing to do in a 50k tournament.

If he was just tanking to piss off the russian, then he's just a douchebag.

Maybe I missed another scenario, but for the moment all of them are telling me this Abe Mosseri guy is not a good poker player.
This takes the price money for the most stupid post in the thread. AND IT IS A LONG THREAD!

Re: ***OFFICIAL WSOP SWEAT THREAD***

ok so yop did already consider the edge in PLO equities vs edge in limit games. I hadn't bothered to read the rest of the post since the beginning was so ******ed.

Yop, you were incorrect to rule that out. You answered your own question.

15 minutes to take this kind of decision is unheard of.

Yes preflop game at PLO is quite easy and automatic once you have played a little.

I said Abe had aces like 5 to 10% of the time. His overlimping and overcalling range is clearly not AA heavy.
I also said the russian was raising from the bblind with a tight range like top 10%.
Shaun Deeb can autoshove ONCE the russian raises from the blind AND there are 3 callers. But this happens rarely.
Over flatting aces in this spot is a nice trap. BUT even if the trap worked perfectly it took him 15 minutes to not fold!
Looking at the way the hand was played I'm pretty sure the trap was involontary and that Abe would have preferred to see a cheap flop with his aces. Kind of playing Aces pre totally backwards

You seem a bit result oriented. It's not because the russian was unlucky that Abe had slowplayed Aces in this spot that his repop was bad. 90% of the time everybody folds and he can play a nice 60/40 with massive dead money.

Mosseri is one of the absolute most winning mixed-game limit players, both live and online, so much for your little evaluation.

That doesn't prevent him from being a huge douchebag. He probably legitimately tanked for a few minutes and then just stalled to piss the guy off.

Just saying 'call' is 99% not a brainfart, but an angle. See other specific thread

There can only be eight at the final table.

Also, I thought that this tweet was kinda funny.
