Phil's streak is currently 21 years. It would be longer, but he didn't cash in 1991. Incidentally, Miami John cashing in last week's HORSE event extends his streak to the same 21 years.

Erik Seidel is at 22 years with cashes from 1991-2012.

Edit: Mike Sexton has cashed every year since 1988!

Another interesting stat: Howard Andrew cashed in event #11 this year, so that means he's competed in every WSOP since 1974, or 39 years straight.

good work. I think Hellmuth can easily break Johnston's record

This is a cert to get broken. It may take a long time because its a 29 year record, but with the way the wsop is now with so many events, and people getting into poker at such a young, theres going to be a lot of good players playing a lot of events and playing every year.

Also it wouldn't surprise if Hellmuth was only a few years behind now, has he ever had a ear without cashing?

Check my edit: I think Mike Sexton is probably better than even odds to break the record.

There might be more events but the fields are generally tougher.

Field size doesn't really matter in a cash % equation, assuming thats what you meant by deeper.

If you meant tougher competition, you may have a point but I not sure that would make up for all the additional events.

they pretty much gave up on updating chip counts after people starting using twitter it seems, so I wouldn't put too much stock into that. My friends chip count hasn't changed for hours and he has 3 times the chips they list him as.

With that said, if Ivey wins or loses a big pot, I'm sure they would report it, so his chip count may be somewhat accurate but I wouldn't trust his positioning as being so

And like 10BB for the LHE. The rest of the players are way weaker than the ones he's had to go up against in the his other final tables. I like his chances.

No kidding, I was trying to follow the NL final table last night and there were sometimes 15-20 minutes in between updates.

I guess Ivey is just not important enough to keep a more accurate chip count on.
