On the same subject these were the first to do so....

Moss - Technically. He was voted by his peers to win 1970 ME. Then the following year (1971), won the A-5 Limit draw.

Ungar - won in 1980 (genuinely won, not voted for) and won his 2nd bracelet in the 2-7 $10K the following year before retaining his Main Event crown.

Re: ***OFFICIAL WSOP SWEAT THREAD***

I don't see the need to be so cagey about them cutting deals. Especially on the live stream, everyone who follows poker enough to watch a live stream of the WSOP knows that it happens.

For the televised highlights I get it, to preserve the esteem of first prize for the viewer or whatever...

That's my point though, fair enough he might lose to them overall, but he makes pretty awful mistakes that are just fundamentally wrong. What I mean is if he can make mistakes like that in cash how can he be such a good tourney player? The two games are still NLH.

Re: ***OFFICIAL WSOP SWEAT THREAD***

Do people usually deal at the WSOP, of course they dont show it because they want to show off the big 1st place, but payouts never indicate it. But it would be rediculous to not deal to reduce variance since 1st is aways so much bigger

4/6 guys leading the POY right now made the last five of the HORSE final table. Pretty sick.

He does make mistakes in tournament, but I think that because of his weird style, he also makes money in spots where other players wouldn't.

I thought you couldn't deal/chop at the WSOP? Or at least not officially, right? Even if you can and Joe Cada, in fact, did make a deal, isn't he supposed to be hush hush about it? I'm sure the WSOP does not recognize/condone any deal.

Why did that girl in the booth say that David Baker is beefy? That comment made no sense to me during the live stream.

Why the fug would Cada do that? Seems like he took a lot of pressure off the other guy and a second bracelet is worth so much more to Cada in terms of marketability. Always knew Cada was a fish.

Channing Eliminated, Opponent Breaks Etiquette

Posted 15 minutes ago by Paul_Oresteen

Neil Channing opened for 525, Marvin Rettenmaier called and the player in the big blind called. The flop came {7-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}, the big blind checked, Channing checked and Rettenmaier bet 725. Both players called and the turn came {Q-Clubs}. Action was checked to Rettenmaier again and he bet 1,550.

The big blind folded and Channing announced all in for a few thousand more. Rettenmaier called and tabled {A-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} for the nuts and Channing mucked his hand.

The river came a blank and an opponent not in the hand asked to see Channing's hand.

"What does it matter?" Channing asked. "I'm out of the tournament."

"I just want to see it," the player replied.

The dealer obliged and turned up Channing's hand , {K-Clubs} {K-Hearts}, to satisfy the unknown player.

Channing mumbled a few choice words to the guy and then left the tournament area.

Channing never was a great tourney player and clearly has no intention of learning to be one. Doesn't even know how to bust, lol.
