There's a difference between venting your misfortune out loud and berating someone. To verbally exclaim "he hit a three outer on the river, fml!" is way different than saying "your an idiot for calling my turn bet, you only had three outs you idiot moron."
One is venting frustration at a suck out and the other berating a player.
They are completely different but announcers just lump anything Phil says into the "berate" category because he used to do a lot of it and they like to play it up to fill air time and make their jobs easier. Its getting old though and they need to find a new story line. If I hear one more time "he's a polarizing player and poker needs villains" I mean WTF, Villain?!?!?!
HOWARD LEDERER is a Poker Villain
RAY BITAR is a poker Villain
Phil Helmuth is a passionate player who occasionally gets out of line.
