I'm sure there probably isn't a clear answer to this but how is that someone is this good at a game like poker? I mean, with variance the way it is, how is it that Ivey's dominating like this -- in all disciplines of poker, no less?

He's making the year's of Monnette and Frankenburger seem pedestrian at the rate he's going. And, their years would be so boss (and, obv., they still are by so many standards) in any other year.

At any rate, I think that what Ivey is doing is great in really proving that poker is a game of skill and not just some degen-gambling-sinful act the gov. would have you believe!

Benyamine went on to needle Ivey a bit, but in jest. "This guy, he's just toying with everyone! He keeps doing deep and making final tables, but then busts out in second, third or fourth place!" he joked. "I guess he just wants to win the last one!" he finished, to which he implied the Main Event at the end of the Series.

"Or the second to last one," responded Ivey with a turn of his head to the rail, hinting towards the $1,000,000 One Drop event.

Lets say Ivey will make this final table his 5th then his chances for makeing 6 are most i would say in event 39 10k PLO event 42 2500$ omaha 8/ 7card stud 8. event 45 50k players championship, event 50 5k no limit.Event 52 2500 10 game mixed event 55 1million one drop and event 56 and 57 10k short handed nlh 3k PLO8. I can see him make up to 7 final table this year.

Interesting that when I was trying to find out who made the most FT in one WSOP, the most I came across was 5 by Daniel Negreanu in his POTY WSOP (2004). So, if Ivey is able to do it in event #35 he'd tie that, and I agree that he'd have a good shot of at least 1 or 2 more FT in the events you listed, molinn9.

Ivey obv has never won a bracelet in Hold Em, it'd be pretty awesome if his first was in an event that played both of the Hold Em variants.
