~75% of the field got a bye in the 10k HU, myself included. Round 2 at 4 PM.

So brutal to be screwed over by greed. Let 20 extra people in to get their money and screw over 40 people in a 10k. Should be refunds for r1

Do the players who don't get the bye on the first round only pay half of the entry fee or full 10k?

The bye is just to make it a competent tournament, they must have brackets that can be broken down into matches.

EDIT:

Event #9 underway, featuring. Scott seiver, Brian rast, Johnathan Duhamel.

Why do you think it's strange? You have to get to a power of 2 to have all matches played in subsequent rounds. For instance, if you had 70 people enter, first round will only be 6 matches, then 2nd round starts with 64 people. 64, 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1...

In this case they had 152 entries, 104 byes. That means 24 matches, and we'll have 128 people left after this round.

i don't know how they are doing it, but in my opinion, they should close it in 128. IF players wanted to reg after that, they would have to agree on playing against themselves to see if they can advance to the 128 players bracket

People now complaining that if you Mincash the 10K HU, you make a loss due to taxes

Why? It isn't like certain people have a better chance of getting the bye. Seems perfectly fair if they don't previously announce that they are closing registration at a certain number.

It is perfectly fair.

But the players wanted to enter a HU-poker tournament. Not a raffle/poker mix event.

They do have a right to complain.
