Tourney poker is so gay sometimes, other than the 3-4 biggest stacks almost everybody else is at the mercy of coinflips, IF they play things right.

Lon is so bad at calling it live... so tentative... almost as if he doesn't know what beats what and when back door draws materialize etc...

Americans tend to have more personality and talk more. A lot of the foreign players i.e Eastgate, Duhamel, Demidov etc are not as comfortable speaking english and therefore remain quieter on TV tables. Eastgate showed as much excitement after winning the main event as I did last time I got a jury summons. Granted none of those guys are going to be in this November 9 and I'm not sure about the english skills of the guys that are left right now, but I'd rather watch somebody from the USA who talks a lot and is understandable than a random from the Ukraine who may know only halting english.

Also people like to watch people they can relate to. Your average viewer is going to be more inclined to tune in if the table is full of people who talk and act like him than if it's full of stone faced Czech's who aren't very easy to relate to.

This.

He's been a professional hold em commentator for a decade now and he can barely read the board.

No way... They are still pretty deep except a couple of foolios, there should be some solid plays and not just coin flipping..

I know that all those years of ESPN WSOP telecasts were scripted and spent months in the editing room, but you'd think he would have learned something by now about the game. It seems the only thing he's confident in is yelling "[CARD] of [SUIT]" on the river as if it is significant.

This will be the lowest rated NN of them all. Basically nine indistinguishable guys playing each other without talking.

I haven't been following this. Can someone tell me which of the remaining players is the most evil so I know who to root for? Thanks.

just to play Devil's advocate a bit, by this reasoning i take it your favourite final table of the last 5 years or so would be Jamie Gold's? I am not sure conversation is why i watch the wsop.
