I hate the way the commentators are educating the public about poker in espn broadcast. This is horrible for poker and really tilts me. Someone put a muzzle on Oliver cuz he is giving away too much information. This is the worst year in poker already you don't have to make it even worse by educating every fish out there how to play their stack size and what kind of hand ranges the players have in different spots. I also don't care for any of the players left and quote me "This will be the worst November 9 yet".

But what about 9 Tony G's versus 9 Ben Lamb's (just talking personality wise, not poker playing skills, assume equal skill at poker)? I really disagree with the assertion Americans want to only watch Americans, and I'm talking the causal viewer here - but I do agree that outgoing, talkative people will appeal to the casual viewer much moreso than quiet types.

For example, compare Dirk to Pau Gasol - even before winning it all this year - Dirk was pretty damn popular and well known in America, Pau Gasol is nowhere near as recongized. It's why Phil Hellmuth keeps on getting invited to poker shows, and it's why Daniel Negraneau will pretty much always be considered one of poker's main faces - outgoing, talkative, charismatic personalities attract attention and viewers.

this is a joke right? this information has ALWAYS been out there and listening to Oliver doesn't all the sudden mean you understand everything... just a dumb statement, you have to choose to learn in this game to win regardless... most casual viewers probably won't retain what Oliver says in a broadcast
