John Hewitt is backed by the pokerfarm and we all know how well they support their guys at the final table (Jake Cody at $25k HU + James Bord at WSOPE).

you guys think today will be boring? personally what is more interesting then getting to watch live these guys sweat it out to make the top 9... if you are one of the 13 going home, the money is nice but to get so close... I mean we saw Matt Affleck last year and he wasn't that well known

Ben Lamb is maybe my 2nd favorite, since I like his style and his table presence.

Most of the others haven't even been on the feature table more than maybe a couple of hours so I have no real reason so for to root for them.
Phil Collins made an impression, so I wouldn't mind him going to the Nov9.

Apart from that I'm supporting my fellow Europeans Pius Heinz and Eoghan O'Dea.

I don't like that Barnhard dude, I disliked him on the circuit coverage, he's so awkward at the table.

Yeah, ---- the poker, they should have a valuable comp. for the most visually attractive stack.

Yah. Hellmuth is TERRIBAD, but with Chan "in the booth" it was ten times worse terribad.

lol @ you and your thinking that blue collar fish are actually watching LIVE poker. It's super boring for them to watch 20 minutes of folding and they much rather wait for the main broadcasts with pf all-ins every other minute.

Lon and Phil are only entertaining to the standard NVG fish who don't understand poker strategy anyway and would be losing $ at the tables if they weren't occupied by watching the stream + browsing NVG.

I wish we could have seen the Eastgate/Demidov HU live like we are now with hole cards... rather than 2 hands, it was quite a battle between the 2 and they were fairly even to start.

I don't know why people insist your average recreational player would prefer the PH commentary. My dad, who plays poker once a month with his buddies, has dabbled online but is basically clueless about tournament strategy and jargon - ie the target audience of recreational players - absolutely hated the PH and Lon commentary, complaining that Lon was calling hands wrong and PH was talking about himself all the time, and thought LivB was awesome, he told me he 'was learning so much from him!'

Best outcome today would be to have a good mix of youth and experience, several countries represented, those that bring raucous rails and - a point I don't think has been made - an open FT with no runaway CL. It would be good if CL has no more than 25% and short stacks still relatively deep. If they can wrap up in 4 levels today then the first full level in November will be 250K / 500K which would be 412 BB's in total (45.8 on average).
