Imo notables by stack:

Ben Lamb 14,690,000 (Bracelet winner, Baller, POY leader)
Phil Collins 13,805,000 (USCPhildo)
Scott Schwalich 6,920,000 (becomelegendary on P5s)
Bryan Devonshire 6,190,000 (MaverickUSC on 2p2, Devo, ex-UB pro)
Sam Barnhart 4,935,000 (WSOP Circuit Champion bracelet winner)
Samuel Holden 4,740,000 (SamDMND)
Gionni Demers 4,655,000 (rbx88 on 2p2)

Pretty boring .

No interesting storylines -> ESPN is -> not good for poker.

Easy as that. The Nov9 is about players and their stories, not about poker skill.

I know people have lives to live but if you have made the time to follow the action on espn2/espn3.com since Day 3 then this is not the least bit boring imo. Day 8 is going to be insane and can't wait to see who makes the N9.

BTW, I believe Anton Makievskyi (the current chip leader) has the shot to break Joe Cada's youngest player to win record, which I'm sure ESPN will eat up but I'm not 100%.

Kind of a pointless record at this point since a 21 year old has won, if someone breaks it it's just a matter of whose birthday is closest to november.

Yes, I know but ESPN makes a big deal about this. A while ago, it was huge when a 21-year won his first bracelet and then someone younger than that beat that record because of his birthday being earlier.

The ESPN editing team could make paint drying seem interesting. All of these people saying its boring must realise that live poker is mostly dull and boring and you would have been saying exactly the same thing had this coverage been around last year.

looks like pateychuk is actually the youngest

guessing espn's favorite FT

lamb (obv everyone wants him)
barnhart (old guy who obv wont give a piece)
collins yeah phil collins o rly?
o'dea (father son thing)
some vietnamese random as every year who will pretend never having heard about 4bettin light (ie nguyen)
some superyoung eurokids 7 betting light postflop for the average yankee distraction
1 or 2 other 30 y-o pros

well actually that could be fun (but I wish the 9 best to set a top notch nov9)

Thanks OP for taking the time to post an excellent summary.

Boring? How can it fail to be interesting, the final 9 players will have their CVs & private lives put in the spotlight for starters, so that everyone can pick at it.
Not sure Im in love with that aspect of it though, but it goes with the territory

You guys are never satisfied, theres certain to be interesting dynamics at the table, and I think were very lucky to be able to watch all the play for free.

It's just fun to have a real famous pro in the N9 because it's more fun, esp for casual viewers. Now it are basicly 9 unknowns, Lamb being a bit famous, rest being prolly pretty unknown before the world series.

Hoping a non-american takes it down here .

No matter who makes november 9, espn will find interesting angles for presentation, it is their job. Certainly they have massive content for up til now, with pros going deep + bf/gf to top 30. As long as Ben Lamb makes final table they'll be good??? imo.
