I'm not sure exactly what your question is, but we have a profanity filter for a reason, so there's no need for someone to post part of a word and asterisk some of it out. Usually people do that for one of two reasons - they aren't aware there is a filter and are self-censoring, or they don't like the way it's filtered so they do it themselves in a way that makes it more obvious what the word was, or to outright circumvent it. It's the latter that will get you into trouble sometimes, although I'm sure some forums here are stricter about it than others, and people don't always report such posts, so mods don't always see them.

Just type the word you want to say, and if it's not allowed, the filter will look after it; if it is allowed, it will go through. That also prevents posters from looking silly when they type things like a$$, seeing as ass isn't even censored.

its so hard to figure out what those asterisks mean though. last week i told someone to go **** himself, and instead he **** himself. how should he have known?

I just tried to re-upload it to imgur.com and post it here, in a spoiler, but imgur is acting kinda funny.. No thumbnails visible on the main page as is normal. So I think the problem is on their end. Maybe all imgur photos are inaccessible.

How do you get intouch with individual mods. I had a private message quoting a mod here 3 weeks ago and he has not been in touch since my numerous replys. I would like to get in touch with the mod he quoted to make sure its a genuine quote.

It's kind of hard to follow what you're looking to confirm, but quoted posts have a small blue box with 2 arrows that you can click on which will take you to the post. If you're trying to confirm a PM, that won't work. If you need to PM him, you should be able to find his name in the quoted post as well, but I assume you're talking about ChicagoRy.

This "thread" should have been put to rest days ago. Greg has been a good member of the 2+2 community for years and he deserves better from 2+2 then this.

If you don't like the thread, don't read it. I agree this is a bad spot for Greg, and I personally wish him no ill will, but this is legitimate poker news and 2p2 does not censor that just because that news is bad.

So what is not ok for 2+2? The past 400 posts have been nothing more then tasteless jokes or debating the legality of prostitution. If 2+2 wonders why there is not more involvement from well known poker players then they should look closely at what they find acceptable.

I don't think twoplustwo spends much time wondering that at all. A lot of professional poker players post on various forums here. That being said these are discussion forums about poker (except bbv4l don't fricking post about poker there).

If you think locking the Greg Raymar thread would make more poker pros post on twoplustwo you are mistaken. I suspect Greg himself would not support your quest to have the thread closed.

Each forum/sub group is almost an entity unto itself here with very different rules and management. This is fairly unusual for even large forums like twoplustwo but the good part is you can feel free to participate in those forums you are interested in and in a manner you agree with...

How Greg's arrest is not fodder for a poker news forum, specifically, escapes me. You are the one claiming it does not belong. If not under news it certainly qualifies under views or gossip.

The thread is clearly within the scope of NVG. There's really nothing more to say. If it devolves into pure trolling it'll be locked. As long as it adds some value to the community, the community will essentially decide how long it stays on the front page by how long they respond.
