If someone made a new thread with baseless accusations against someone of not just speculating on cheating but stating it with certainty and trolling people who even allow for the possibility but express doubt that it is happening, it would be locked immediately. Yet those posts litter the thread and dominate the discussion.

I get that a big part of this forum is views/gossip, but the Timex free throw thread seems super OOL.

Firstly, can I just start a thread about any poker player/site and call them scammers with zero evidence? I mean actually zero, not even a little bit of circumstantial or anecdotes.

Secondly, even if that is deemed fine, it's clearly malicious to hijack a separate topic just call Timex a scammer. We can't have a dedicated thread about the prop bet now because the first person to make a thread about it has an axe to grind. So now the thread is largely about the OP.

For example if I had some reason to hate Phil Galfond, maybe I'd just start a nasty rumor about him, rush to create the Galfond vs. Perkins challenge thread, and write 6 paragraphs in the first post about the crap I just made up.

There was no reasonable suspicion that he was freerolling or doing anything unethical, esp given Timex's rep.

We are all volunteers here. I help out if I see a post report but I don't see a single report for that thread and am not real interested in reading the entire thread.

Report the offensive posts please.

My suggestion would be to move Mikey_D's posts (and responses to him) to its own thread, if the debate on Timex's integrity is a discussion worth having. What's left would be a decent discussion on the prop bet itself.

In discussions with whosnext and admins (Bobo and Videopro of course) it was decided that Mikey_D (formerly SageDonkey) needed to be permabanned.

Regarding cheating accusations in NVG

Twoplustwo members over the years have done a good job of uncovering cheating in poker. Sometimes it takes time for these situations to develop. In fairness to all we will allow certain cheating discussions for a short period until substantiated facts or persuasive evidence of cheating are found. If this is not the case then the mods will either delete the threads, lock the threads, and delete posts. This can often be a subjective decision but the mods will look at the issues carefully and depending on the situation will proceed accordingly.

And this will also apply:

We take cheating accusations seriously and they can be very detrimental to the accused. If the accuser is found to have made the accusations without merit, or with the intent to unjustly defame or otherwise harm the accused, their account will be banned.

i hate spam as much as the next guy but that thread didn't come off as spammy and turns out it's a half decent show too which warranted further discussion

His first two posts before that were not much more than links to his show, in an NVG thread and a Televised Poker thread - made it an easy call once I realized he was just here to promote his show.

Someone may well eventually start a thread, as they do about many other shows. My hope is that doesn't happen until it would have organically, because I don't like spammers getting rewarded, but I have no control over that.

I have a question about Twitter links/embeds here in NVG.

I've been relaying a lot of these lately. On one hand maybe they're very useful when it adds something relevant to the discussion, but then they often become visually disruptive when there are multiple embeds?

Does anyone have any suggestions for general guidelines on posting Twitter links? Perhaps this is okay for the coronavirus thread but not for the other topics in NVG? Should they just be hyperlinked in most cases instead of embedded? Or generally frowned upon? Or generally viewed as okay even when embedded?
