You got a PM from a mod as a result of posts you made. Nothing random about it. And I didn't get any feeling of anger from the PM, nor was anyone flipping out.

Seems to me like the mod in question is using his "power" for exactly the purpose it was given to him.

Why is it a bannable offense to post Doug Polk videos in the Doug Polk Videos thread?

Because of one individuals history and an agreement he made it is only one poster who can’t post videos or memes of any kind in all NVG threads. Either that or the poster’s newest account can get banned just like his original account. There is a chance that we could make adjustments to this agreement in the near future but for now the agreement stands.

Yea, you were swept up in a politard derail cleanup. Also NVG has a rule about posting memes, but jumping into that derail is what got you into that batch deletion and temp ban.

@R*R The title is News, Views, Gossip. Note the bolded word. Look up the definition. If gossip is not to be allowed then a change of the title seems in order. (referring specifically to the Berkey/Marle thread that you closed)

I don't see anything in his post suggesting that gossip isn't allowed, and the title isn't All News, Views, and Gossip. If you're going to make an argument for why that thread should be allowed, you should probably go beyond "because it's gossip".

Not sure why that would make me right, as I said no such thing. I don't care either way whether that thread is open or not, and I don't have a strong opinion either way as to whether it should be. I was just trying to help you, as you had made no argument for why it should be open, other than that it was gossip. If you think that'll get it reopened, then carry on I guess.

You didn't literally say it but the bolded portion of the 1st quote implies as much.

And you are correct that I stated no reason for my comment. I erroneously thought it would be obvious why the thread should remain open (famous, poker, gossip: all relevant tags.)

Here's a thought. When a mod closes a thread, why not state a valid reason in the post. "It's not worthy at all. Locked." is not much of an explanation

That is not a worthy NVG topic, gossip or not.
