That's odd. Can't make up their mind?

I understand why a green mod won't go against a red mod, but IMO this just looks really bad on the 2+2 site itself, (IMO) there should be a open discussion about what happen and how everything went down, people have a right to know why someone would make such a rash decision, essp because it can effect were they choose to spend there money in the future . . .

Because Mason told you so? Or is this just a random guess?

During my years on 2p2, this is probably the mod decision that makes the least amount of sense to an outsider. If nothing else, it would be interesting to hear Mason explain it.

A few hours ago, JNandez goes on youtube stream to talk about the 2+2 thread even. Not angry or no problems at all, just goes back over his response to Doug's comments.

So it seems the actors involved have no problem with the thread as Doug Polk linked to it on twitter, both participated in it, and JNandez talking about it.

So, was it closed because Doug asked it to be or because Mason decided it was getting out of hand or what? Either way, it seems like favoritism to me, but whatever.

Could he favoritism, but not motivated by Upswing buying ads. Mason thinks Doug is good for poker and even let him start his own thread in NVG promoting his YouTube channel.

Closing that thread was the right thing to do, and though Mason does do some odd things here from time to time, that was imo done with the best intentions for all involved.

Funny that doug and juandez who both clearly understand the concepts of GTO could not see that battling it out publicly was a horrible move for both of them.

Always had the impression that MM has a stake in upswing. Since it's not that smart from doug to make a public fight out of this, MM deleted the thread...

It definitely did not get out of hand. Everyone made good points.

Is Mason their guardian angel? Or what? They both participated in the thread and had no problem advertising it on their other major platforms.

I thought accusing each other of being misleading and basically having a public spat was a bit out of hand, even if they hadn't yet resorted to name calling. Possibly not the best way to deal with the situation.

What surprised me was that they hadn't seemed to have worked everything out beforehand, like the monetary side of thing. I imagine JNandez gets a flat wage and so refunding members wouldn't ordinarily impact him; but he was saying that he would share that loss. This was something I don't think he'd made clear to the Upswing team, unless they had just misunderstood.

Exactly this. He hasn't played white knight to anyone else called out in the forum as far as I know, so why this time?

Looks like there was a falling out over at Upswing Poker over the last couple of days, between Doug Polk and his PLO Coach JNandez? And someone started a thread about it yesterday that wound up getting deleted, and now people are wondering why ...

Guess there's kind of a big fight brewing over customers and money because JNandez is planning on leaving to start his own site, and lots of people were debating what's fair in this situation, and stuff like that?

I don't think it was a ploy by Fernando, as he didn't start the thread, but he could definitely use the free advertising. He has very limited reach and marketing capability compared to Upswing. Having that drama spill out onto 2+2 is exactly what he needs now that he has to raise awareness of his new business. Especially since Doug did not take the bait of making it a public spectacle and had made a statement to customers directly.

This is consistent with other thread deletions I've seen in NVG. It's not the first time a business has been advertised under the guise of drama. The Streisand effect is real though, so taking that thread down after 100 posts will probably help JNandez more than hurt now.

Obvious and optimum move would have been to make a single and only a single post with what you all thought were pertinent facts.

I guess he has now. I meant before Fernando's video, the 2+2 thread, etc. Just made a statement directly to customers, not blasting it to the world.

Each side made independent statements about the split, and the "battling it out" was over disputed aspects of those statements, such as how refunds would be funded.

They aren't obviously on the best of terms but it wasn't anything close to out of hand. Two people arguing about a disputed agreement hasn't seemed like grounds for deleting (not even locking) a thread in the past.

JNandez posted his video, a topic was started here, Doug came right on in and made a lot of comments, including his main statement. Then he linked to it JNandez's Twitter. JNandez felt compelled to sign up and I guess defend himself against all the comments Doug was making.

So 1. Doug most certainly did take the bait if that's how you want to view it, 2. JNandez was not looking for "free advertising" but was responding to Doug's multiple comments on the situation (he had nothing to do with the thread and only found it because Doug linked him to it), 3. It's not consistent with other thread deletions, because literally the exact same ****ing post has appeared now, but without Doug or JNandez actually posting in it, and now everyone has to piece together what the **** happened yesterday (including you apparently), 4. I think what JNandez did was out of line and commented that it in the deleted thread, but I will reiterate you're wrong to accuse him of using the drama to his advantage, 5. I don't have a 5.

You say this like it's the height of dignity, but of course Doug would want to deal with it quietly and with not too much publicity, as it will potentially affect public trust in Upswing to deliver courses and coaching over the long term.
