I deleted the posts in the vid thread because they were o/t for it, all being about the deleted thread. (I didn't see the deleted thread while it was live.)

All I know is that The Powers That Be (Mason & Mat) deleted the Jnandez/Polk thread.

Have they been known to comment on such decisions? I feel like the fact that I've seen that ad banner here many times a day for the last couple of months makes it an important discussion to be seen.

Incredibly shady behaviour from both Doug and 2p2

Not sure Doug's behavior was shady, I was leaning towards JNandez being shady after reading what they both said and watching all videos, but 2+2 definitely shady and no excuse to delete.

Also the thread was somewhat good advertising, everyone was so pumped up about how great the Omaha content was on Upswing, I was definitely thinking about looking into joining it and never considered doing so before.

I came down on Doug's side in the dispute. I meant shady to use his commercial relationship with 2p2 to shut down public interest discussion on the issue.

I doubt Doug shut it down. On twitter Doug directed people from JNandez's tweet to his own 2+2 statement. Seems Doug was ok with the thread on 2+2.

Fair call, and I'd be glad to be wrong on this one but seems naive to believe that Upswing giving tons of ad $ to 2p2 had no impact.

Now, whether Mason/Mat did this of their own volition or Upswing applied pressure is the question.

It is certainly plausible that their original PR strat was to argue their case ITT and then changed their mind afterward.

The thread was getting out of hand, with WCGRider and JNandez trading blows, but that's on them.

The decision to delete (without explanation thus far) was a mistake I think, and I hope it wasn't done at either party's request. JNandez leaving Upswing will affect members and I feel like people should be allowed to understand what happened, as it will affect both their decision to use the site and their decision to perhaps jump ship to whatever JNandez does next.

There's a thread about Alec Torelli alleging he's a ****ing angleshooter that will significantly impact his coaching site and his brand. That's still on the front page, so there's a double standard here I think.

Probably something to do with ad revenue.

Yes I agree, they definitely could have changed their mind and decided to both cut out the back and forth arguing.

lol, 2p2 is littered with complaint threads about poker sites that have given 2p2 way more money than Doug ever will.

Sure, but at the same time there doesn't seem to be an ad for the PLO Lab with JNandez in the top left of my screen anymore. It's not completely ludicrous to connect the dots, but hey, now that you've cleared things up and explained it all, I guess everything is okay.

It actually wasn't back when you dumb****ed all over the thread. Also, I just blinked and it was deleted again.

Yes it was. There is 0 chance 2p2's decision to delete has anything to do with a financial relationship with Upswing.

It did come back, 4 or 5 more posts in it, pretty interesting takes from observers going for both sides, and then deleted again.

Look I understand why people want to know what’s up but the thread was literally nuked by Mason himself, meaning no one except one of the site owners is reviving it at this point. I’m not sure if anyone will pop in here to give an explanation but I’ll check in the mod forum at least and see what’s up. But no green mod is reversing this one.

Yes it was re-opened with some new quality posts by some observers.
