I havnt because believe it or not I didn't even know it was there until today when I researched how to report posts. I will use it now, but I think my larger point stands that that thread could use stronger moderation. Some of the posts in it should not stand for minutes, let alone until someone reports it, in my opinion.

There is some good discussion in the thread but far too much misogyny. Can a temp moderator be added to that thread maybe?

Every member is a moderator when they use the button.

"Ban" posts became troublesome, trollish, derailing and a meme. This is the reason for the temp bans on anyone that puts up a "ban" post.

It also makes more work for the mod to clean up messes that include the derailing posts when a simple report would have resulted in a single post getting deleted, when warranted.

Totally get the rationale for the restriction on ban posts. I wasn't complaining about my ban. More wanted to make a point about that thread. I will use the report button in the thread.

That being said, perhaps the autoban is overly strict if someone like me with 10k posts and a decade on the site didn't realize I was breaking the rules?

Cheers

Personally I don't agree with a lot of the stuff in thread and several inappropriate posts have been deleted. But it is a discussion and for better or for worst different opinions are welcome. That said, if you feel a post or posts should be considered for deletion please report them and your request will be seriously considered. However we are not going to censor or remove posts just because they don't appeal to our sensibilities. This type of topic will, due to it's nature contain some controversial posts. Thankfully, there have been some excellent rebuts to some of the crap posted in the thread.

I don't think this means what you think it means

Why are you covering for PNIA? This is no "technical glitch."
Do they advertise here?
Do you have a deal with them?

Go and find me another two examples and I will open the thread.

LOL. Why is this the first thing some of you jump to? Have you seen a lot of ads for PNIA here?

Oh, I know why. It must be because we continually take down criticism of Stars, since they have been one of our biggest advertisers for years. Given that you can hardly find a single post critical of them on our forums, it's only logical to assume we'd do the same for PNIA. Even though they don't advertise with us.

There has to be a reason why they did this. I am curious to know what it is.
We would not even know about it if someone with extraordinary observational skills picked it up. I had to view it 10 times to see the "4" on the table.
This situation is totally whacked. I expect reality shows to be a bit liberal with the facts, but certainly don't expect the same from a poker show.
I don't see the harm in talking about this honestly.

Reason: RFID and graphics software glitch. Happens frequently on Live at the Bike and you don't see folks reaching for pitchforks.. The announcers went with the bad info given them from the RFID system and they obviously didn't/couldn't fix it in post.

To be very clear, we have no horse in this race. PNIA is not or ever has been an advertiser and even if they were it would not influence how we handle their issues.

You can take the tinfoil hats off now.

Ok. I have given this a little more thought. The obvious tinfoil hat sky is falling in OP seems pretty ridiculous (with a title that pros were being favored) to me as it appears to be a minor one off incident that really had no monetary or other consequence and really did nothing to make the hand that much more interesting.

One reason I am reopening it is it could lead to some interesting discussion about the editing process of these shows etc. and possibly some other discussion. Of course the tin hat stuff will probably prevail but we will let the thread take its course.

I am going to change the thread title as it jumps immediately to a questionable and likely false accusation in my opinion.

I like something along the lines of Max Cut's suggestion. Thread title should provide information not just on the news but why it's news. I'm sure there's some other people that haven't played the WSOP in a few years that are playing again this year which aren't news worthy.

Since the title would be seen in search results I believe it's beneficial to the site to give a more descriptive title for the future when people may be searching.

Maybe: Indicted former FTP Director Howard Lederer makes 2016 WSOP return.

How about "Misunderstood Howard Lederer makes 2016 WSOP return".

If using WSOP instead of The Annual World Series of Poker, Las Vegas, USA you may as well just say Howard's Back.

If Stu Ungar played in this year's world series and the title of that thread was "Stu Unger WSOP 2016 return" that wouldn't mean much to a lot of people. If the title was instead "Stu Unger returns from the dead to play 2016 WSOP" that would explain why there's a fairly active thread on the topic.

Within the context of the regular readers of the site it's not that important but for a lot of people that visit the site casually or people that who find the link in search results I think a more descriptive title would be beneficial.

i really don't think the title matters much in the case of readers. i do think it matters a little when it comes to the reputation of our company. but i also understand the opposite perspective. we are just trying to make the best decisions we can and sometimes we err.

i do want to point out that when we make a mistake it's usually about words, not millions of dollars of other people's money locked up or taken away entirely.

Rename/modify thread name of Selbst v Urbanovich thread? Multiple people have come in asking why people are discussin Mercier when the title states the bet is against Urbanovich

SEO 101. Titles matter. Frequently when I try to find an old thread I read on 2+2 the link will be buried in the search results. It always bugged me to see that especially when news broke here first and other poker news sites simply reported on what they read on 2+2 yet came up higher in the search results.

Not sure if the mods will agree, but a couple of us in the Baazov thread were wondering if maybe some of the other discussions might be better suited to a thread in a different part of the forum?
