Why did the Jaime thread get deleted?

Alot of people (me included) seem to think Jaime is lying bout his poker winnings to increase his stream. The person who posted that thread seemed to have proof but it got shut down

Nothing is shut down. The discussion is in twitch forum where it belongs.

I deleted the first thread because it was a witch-hunt, full of name-calling etc. I sent a pm to the OP telling him he can re-post if it's framed in a better manner.

I disagree with that Staples thread in NVG being a witch hunt or that it should be moved to Twitch. If what the OP is saying is true then it should be deemed "news" right now it's just "gossip". Both categories are part of NVG. The mods should let the facts play out either way and if Staples isn't lying about his winnings then people will see that to.

Right now the accusation that's being made by several people is that he's charging $150 an hour to coach players and if he's lying about his winnings then that is a serious problem.

That all may or may not be true, but stalking him with multiple gimmick accounts coming from the same IP is not the way to go about it.

Even though I posted the following, on reflection, I have no problem with a post in NVG regarding this issue if the portion of Adam's post I am quoting is followed.

So let me get this straight. A few of my friends suggested I create an account to post because the McKeehan thread was interesting. I post my viewpoints. Recently in the Dentale thread some discussions got heated and yes, I did name call someone who I felt was making no sense.

Why was I tempbanned without any kind of warning for a new poster like me? My buddies all said when they broke any rules and name called they would get some kind of point infraction. Why did I not get that?

Pretty lame if a guy who has 30 posts and is new to the site doesn't even get a warning first before getting banned for 2 days. Not cool and not fair.

When someone goes on an abusive tirade over multiple posts a temp ban is pretty standard. Follow the forum guidelines and communicate like an adult.

Sorry but I don't think I went on any kind of abusive tirade. I called someone a moron, maybe twice. For a newbie, a standard warning should have been given to me first. I've read through a bunch of other threads and people have been much more "abusive" and used worse words.

You guys are wrong on this plain and simple but whatever.

When somebody on a new account starts off with name calling that is usually a pretty good sign of a troll and they are frequently permabanned. Consider the temp ban your warning that it wont be tolerated.

No that's your sign of a troll. Every other post in that thread had posters calling Dentale and anyone that defended him a scumbag, douche and lots of other names. Gimme a break on your lame justification attempt because I used the word moron twice. Why even have these 'infractions' if you are just gonna tempban someone without warning them first?

Temp bans are an available form of moderation that can be used at the discretion of the moderator just as deletions and infractions. They are frequently used when someone is exhibiting prohibited behavior over multiple posts over a short period.

Your questions have been asked and answered. This ends the discussion.

I posted a thread in NVG. Came back about 10 minutes later to see it was deleted. As far as I'm aware, I wasn't breaking any rules. How come it got deleted?

I have to say I have been posting at 2+2 for a decade without incident yet yesterday when I posted that a disgusting comment had been unmodded in the awful sexual harassment thread I was banned for simply pointing it out.

The 24 hour ban is meaningless, but there are seriously messed up ethics driving this forum if I am banned for my post and some of the other posts in that thread remain.

That thread is FAR too lightly moderated and is an embarrassment to the poker community. We talk about wanting more female inclusion in poker but allow that thread to be filled with comments about how she deserved it, is clearly lying, or most rediculously debating if it's even sexual assault.

In my humble opinion that thread needs far stronger moderation.

You should be more honest in your post and state the real reason for your temp ban was violating our no "ban" posts and derailing the thread with moderation comments.

Have you even once clicked the "report post" button to flag a problem post?
