It's a bit silly, seeing as he's attacking a large group of people on a site that he's a moderator of, simply for disagreeing with him. I get angry at him for being an asshat and essentially breaking the site's rules and I get banned, I'm assuming by him.

How about you don't make childish insults unrelated to the topic at hand, as per the rules of the forum. I would be fine with that.

I wasn't aware of any rule that said posters couldn't make fun of NVG. If there was, there would be some awfully busy moderators, and if it meant banning people, we'd have a lot less posters.

Just to play along with your little game for a moment longer, I don't think implying that most of NVG are not smart guys with good social skills is all that much of an insult. Smart guys with good social skills are a pretty small segment of the population anywhere.

by logical extension, broad insults of the entire forum are against the rules just as personal attacks are

if you don't want to enforce the rules, you should probably change them instead of defending 'elite' members of the site when they break them, it makes for a better community

Really perplexed at you sending LOLs at anyone else's logic with some of your posts here.

First off, as I already explained, it was hardly an insult.

But let's assume it was a terrible insult to all NVGers. As I alluded to, that has pretty much never been an issue for NVG mods. You bringing up this 'elite' member thing is beyond ridiculous. Whether you like it or not, personal attacks have always been treated much differently than sweeping generalizations against the entire forum. If you want to argue that should change, I'd suggest sticking with that argument rather than making up some kind of elite class.

And in general, "That guy didn't get in trouble but I did" doesn't really work all that well. If what you did warranted action, what someone else did doesn't really change that.

Just wanted to say I was really impressed by this mods post. Fair play to him and the others posts were nice and supportive in that thread. Hope that guy will be alright.

I was not the mod that deleted but in the reason section it was stated:

I deleted it for the reason stated. There are enough real changes going on with Stars without the need for muddying things up with guesses about what you think might happen in 2016. You posted a laundry list of things that have not been announced nor are likely to happen.

But after your explanation in post #1043 my thoughts are this:

It wasn't apparent in your OP that your goal with the thread was to be proactive to influencing Stars regarding futures changes (it seemed to be more glib to me, distracting to the current issues, and somewhat trollish). However based on your explanation there may be some merit and your thread might be suited for the Zoo. I will check with MH and Bobo to see if the thread could be moved there.

That's not quite how it works, but even if it did, the result might be the same. There were at least 7 people posting that the thread was unnecessary, or even asking for outright deletion.

But to me, the bigger issue is the proliferation of threads about Stars. Do we really need yet another, or could this not be discussed in an existing thread?

As a courtesy to the OP I had a careful look at this thread.

However, as the result my initial reasoning, input from other mods, several requests by other posters to have the thread deleted, the volume of Stars threads that we already have in NVG in which the OP can share his thoughts, the poor timing of this topic, and other related reasons, I have decided to keep the thread in the NVG graveyard.

I appreciate your consideration yet have to disagree for the following reasons.

1) The thread was unique in that it discussed upcoming changes; not past changes that no amount of whining or crying about can alter.

2) It was expressed as a "View" and not as "News" and is poker related.

3) As a long time players advocate I felt that sharing my views about the future would help people prepare if any of my "views" came to fruition.

4) It allowed discussion ahead of time about the pros and cons of these policy shifts to offer Pokerstars constructive feedback.

5) It allowed other posters to offer their opinions about upcoming changes.

It's true that some people wanted it deleted as they never imagined that the people at Stars could possibly have considered some of the upcoming changes that I believe will happen. This is absurd thinking as nearly every possible idea related to Poker has been floated around PS HQers. Other posters also put forth their "views" on possible upcoming changes.

I didn't offer any endorsements or negative feedback to the changes I think will happen as that's not my job and I certainly wasn't trolling as I can virtually guarantee that some of the suggestions I put forth will be implemented. I understand that Stars likes to announce changes on their own schedule (or a Russian hackers) but this is of no concern to me... and it shouldn't be of concern to the moderators of this forum.

I agree that this isn't a concern of moderators.

It's best that it remains deleted.
Pokerstars might've ended up getting new awful ideas from it.
