Hi, I was trying to find the thread for praising mods. Please move this to the appropriate place if this is the wrong one.

A while back I posted something that I immediately regretted. I quickly attempted a ninja-edit but lo and behold, my post had been deleted already. Not sure who the mod was but he/she saved me an enormous amount of embarrassment.

Racists are real and witches as described by colonial settlers were not. Labeling people witches was a way to suppress and punish an already marginalized gender. Id say an overwhelming majority of people labeled racists, at least on here, is the not so marginalized white male. Whom i might add arent being literally burned at the stake. So I think labeling someone a witch was a tad bit more inflammatory than calling someone a racist, esp when they use racist language. But crossing too much into politard land so ill stop.

I saw a thread in nvg which was andrew robl vs. some guy and they were advertising they were going to have an mma fight. Maybe an interesting thread to some people and less for others who simply dont care( i.e. dont know them, dont like mma etc). The thread was 2 months old without any new posts and I wanted to see if there were any updates.

Nevertheless I bumped the thread to see if there was any updates by posting "bump" in the thread. After bumping it I wanted to find out if I deleted my posts right then and there whether or not the thread would still appear at the top of NVG. Thus, achieving the ninja bump that I still don't know how to do. Sure enough --- it didn't. So in my eyes, I have effectively had a net zero on anything relative to the forums up til this point. I've bumped a 2 month old thread only to delete my own posts seconds later and the thread does not appear on top of the forum.

I still do want to bump it (for ppl who havent seen the thread) and to see if there were any updates/what happened. So I make a monumental mistake and I write "bump" again in the thread. I log back on a few hours later only to see that i have been banned for "Low content bumping a thread after my first posts was deleted" (obv with me being person who deleted it).

I guess curiosity got the best of me when I deleted my posts the first time to see if this is how a ninja bump worked. Now this whole posts I just made is rather ridiculous but I would like to know what mod banned me for this heinous act I have committed. I would like to personally apologize to him.

I don't think you'd be punished for reposting your self-deleted post - good chance the mod thought that another mod had deleted it.

Out of curiosity, why "bump"? If you want to know if there has been any updates, wouldn't that question be the thing to post? That would be more likely to steer you clear from someone being upset at a low content bump.

As for how a ninja bump works - it doesn't. There's no such thing ever since the forum software changed several years ago.

Actually bumping a thread with just "bump" is not welcome in NVG and is considered a no-content post and will get deleted. Now if you posted : "Anything happen with this?" or anything similar it would have been fine.

Your post was ninja deleted by a mod so when you reposted, the usual result is a one day ban. It is also possible that you deleted at the same time but the mod got credit for the deletion so it looked like a repost of a deleted post.

Was it me? I ninja delete stuff all the time.

I don't remember banning anyone for this recently tho.

At any rate yeah Pop, any bump of a thread with just "bump" is going to be considered worthless and result in the deletion of the bump post, and some sort of additional action if it happens again.

Why did a mod delete my post in Blitzerian's 100k giveaway thread. I did give a link to a charity... but he is giving away 100k and I can't think of a better cause then the one provided.
