I came here to ask the same question. it was a good thread for NVG, a very unusual hand and had potential, seems a silly "close".

I dont think Vanessa was trolled by the OP of that thread either, he just posted the live report of the hand. Vanessa is a sponsored pro on stars and as such needs to get exposure and be talked about anyway.

I pm'ed a mod about the situation and was told that PP was the one who locked it. When I pm'ed PP, he ignored me.

Its too late to reopen it now. but pp has ignored these posts the past couple days. I still think it was closed to 'save face"

If it keeps happening in the future, definitely something that needs to be looked into. And I am surprised none of the other mods are agreeing with us since those mods are supposedly to have been posting in nvg for years.

Yes I think her actions deserves some trolling. People who are shady should be outed by the public. Why don't you try to lock the toolbox thread? Why one but not the other?

When one Mod takes action on a thread, the decision to do so falls into one of several categories.

It was completely correct.
It was probably correct
It was a close call - could go either way but not important enough to care.
It was a close call but I would have gone the other way.
It was not correct - usually due to mistake in comprehension of what is going on.

As mods if we care about the matter, we usually exchange PMs or discuss in the mod forum if it falls into the last two, and we are not shy about doing so. Frequently this results in a change of action. In this most recent case - that didn't happen.

I'm the "other mod" in question here.

My stance would probably be #4 - I wouldn't have locked the thread, but I can see why it was done.

Seemed to me to fall into the general blasting of pros who do ridiculous things venue, like the Adz twitter thread, which is why I wouldn't have locked it, but would have kept an eye on it to make sure it didn't get disgustingly out of hand, as sometimes happens when the target is a female.

Yeah, the not important enough to care thing qualifies.

I didn't care when it was closed.

I do care that it seems like a lot of people want it open, so in that sense I care.
