It really was amazing going over that session. His matches against the nose bleed regulars seem almost out of control on both sides. But when he's just facing your regular high stakes grinder, the match seemed simply lopsided.

A lot of isildurs edge comes from completely running over opponents, tilting them and generally just getting people into holes that they've never been before! I'm sure when zee first started playing 100/200 he had a stop loss of 10BI. Next thin he knows he's playing 200/400 and down half a million. LOL, isi is just so sick the way he does that to people.

As far as Zee playing him I guess it's like pot luck. Either you get owned by isildur in his finest game or u suckout a bit, he tilts and you run him over for his whole bankroll. I'm just sure zee had no intention of losing anywhere near as much as he did.

Regardless of his results, he's quite possibly the most entertaining player to rail.

Both accounts are listed in top losers on PTR.

But I wish only best to Isildur1.
If you look at the top losers for FTP, most of the accounts in the top 10 are HS regulars, with Antonius usually being near the top. It really doesn't mean anything.

maybe, just maybe, the high stakes pros that give him action have a different opinion of his game than NVG does?

Well last year everyone considered Gus a fish. So was he a fish then or not a fish because he's winning now?

Can we get this thread merged with the official isildur I hate 20 threads on him
02-16-2010 , 10:57 AM
So he's back? Can we get some HH's going in this thread?

I really hope he runs over anyone in sight, especially team CR.

Gus was up quite a bit this time last year too... but he ended up losing $6 million +

Obviously Gus is a good poker player; it's just that some of the other nosebleed players feel that have a significant edge on him, at least in some games.

From what I could tell from watching the hands last year, it appears to be Gus's tendency to call off light OOP, and then stack off light. Granted, this happens a good bit at any super-aggro game, but Gus seemed to do it lighter and more often than anyone else.

It remains to be seen whether Gus can turn out a profitable year this year. With some adjustments, I think he can. But I can definitely see why some games formed around him last year.

I would say it has lot to do with being worth probably 50 million or more as well.

hi

Before hitting that nasty downswing, TheItalienStyle had won more than a couple mil at ipoker. He hardly gets any good action now, since they quit him pretty fast when he wins a couple of pots. I also think that some people have him completely figured out - gulkines/teamcardrunners style so to speak. If he is indeed isildur1 that's one of the reasons he moved to fulltilt, easier action etc.

Anyway it's kind of amazing to think that a guy who hasn't turned 20 yet has already won (and lost) close to 10 million dollars online. Sick.
