Re: *** The Official Isildur1 Thread ***

I havent paid much attention since Isildur lost that night to PA.
How is he doing the last few days? estimated BR over 2-3 million?

LOL if anyone thinks PA (or Isildur) is playing for "respect."

This ain't some schoolyard pissing match. This is a F*load of money. If Isildur thinks PA has the advantage, he shouldn't be playing.
Actually, to isildur it may in fact be a pissing contest, he doesn't seem to give a sh*t about the money. He is just going all out to prove he is the best. To an average man this concept may seem hard to grasp. But isildur is no average man, even durrrr called him "quite a sicko".

Isildur1 doesn't even play people on their own terms, haven't you seen that he demands 3x raises, multiple tables, etc etc?
No I just don't respect fkn nits. And yes degenerates are awesome when they're also extremely good players, like isildur1, durrr, Ivey etc. All the top high-stakes pros maintain that you've gotta give action to get action. It's an adage that has resonated through poker in every single era.

Isildur1 is giving more action than anyone in a long time, and Antonius is being a fkn nit by refusing action except on his terms, which is especially lame considering he was like 2m+ up when he started doing it. Every other pro really that's playing isil is compromising to accomodate the action. Ivey was playing 3 tables for a while when he clearly doesn't like to, durrr was working around isil's schedule for a while etc. Antonius is bum-hunting on his own terms and basically refusing to return the action on isil's terms at all. And you want me to respect that? LOL at you.

And sure, isil has SOME demands to play - but it's nothing compared to what he's compromising to play everyone else. The least PA could do is at least buyin deep, or play a session or two of NLHE.

This is all absurdly stupid. Isildur1 can quit PLO any time he wants and sit at the NLHE tables all day waiting for action, but he's too much of a degenerate gambler to do that. Patrik's just exploiting his opponent. Why give up that unnecessary edge?

why does antonius have to give action when he knows this degenerate will just play him at PLO anyway?

LOL @ people thinking that nosebleed players need to be fair to each other. Sorry to say but survival of the smartest player and the ones with the biggest bankroll.

The only thing a poker player really owes another player is courtesy and respect at the table. Other than that one should be able to play when and whatever game they want and leave whenever they want.

Isildur has been way too nice to these other nosebleed players.

No, isildur1 can't just sit there all day, because nobody will play him. He's too good at HU-NLHE. Durrrr might continue to take a shot, but only cause he's a degenerate too. The only reason others continue to play him is because he accomodates the action in PLO. Exactly the same reason durrr had to start playing PLO. He's a known PLO-fish but he has to play to get the action.

Pretty much every high-stakes reg he's playing seems to understand this, and it's fairly obvious anyway. It's just good business. If you don't get it, I'm not particularly concerned - but from an observers point of view, Antonius being such a dick about things when he's so far up is lame.

It's the same thing. A tonne of people on here always give Lederer **** for being such a nit too.

PA promised to play NL after some PLO and went back on his word. It is a pretty douche thing to do and it does reflect poorly on him.

And pretty much all the HS-regs disagree with you :P It's considered unethical in those games to hit'n'run. There is an expectation at that level to give people the chance to recover if you're going to get action again. All the top pros recognise this in interviews, books, chat etc. They nearly all got pissed off with Mark Vos and his short-stacking, they all get pissed when people hit n run. Because these actions are beyond expectation for a fair game. This isn't some wild utopian theory :P

But then in the next breath they say "sorry I won't play a game that I am losing at..only a game I can win at consistently"

Sort of a contradiction if you ask me.....

Mind you I won't be playing nosebleed stakes ever so I have nothing to worry about

Well that's kinda my point, they DON'T generally say that. The biggest cash games in the world are always mixed games. People usually have best games in the mix but they don't just sit out on specific games right? Some people have been accused of this online in the 7-game things, and everyone agrees on it being a dirty thing to do. That's kinda what PA is doing to me, on a different level admittedly.

Didn't hear about this, and it is a douche thing to do, but poker is full of douchebags. Being so active in the high stakes community, Isildur1 knows this, and I don't feel any sympathy for him.
