(thats verbatim, as in yes the sentence was written that badly, with spelling mistakes (not sure how you can re-request something in a first email??!! not that i got that email anyway...trust me i looked))

looks like its been written by a 5 year old, with no mention of my name or my username on full tilt and when i asked for some sort of proof that this was a legitimate email i.e whats my username or address, and since they have my email you must have those details, they just kept repeating for about 3/4 emails "hello, as stated previously full tilt requests the information to verify your account" and we went round in circles for a few emails until eventually a correspondent said "if you dont wish to send the verification documents then you will not be able to access your account until you do"

Is it just me?? because im not about to send verification documents which is all anyone would need for identity fraud to verify an account which has more in it than most peoples bank accounts?!

Check the reply address in the email properties to see if it's replying to the legitimate FTP email address.

Safest thing to do is email FTP directly at support@fulltiltpoker.com

It wouldn't surprise me if people are sending out phishing emails...

Poker sites always use your user name so you know its them contacting you. If the letter you received doesn t have it, the I would suggest not answering it. Or if indoubt, forward it to FTP using a email address from there site

The OP was from the US and thought the servers might crash when the US players login to withdraw thier money.

There will be no "crash" when FTP comes back online, and the date of sunday the 4th of november sounds perfect as a calculated estimation.

I got the same email as you - also the 1st email I've recieved from full tilt - but I got it into an email address I only used with full tilt (I use a different email address for every poker site). The reply address was support@fulltiltpoker.com and after sending my documents, I got a "documents verified" email back in about 30 minutes. So I think it's safe to say it's not a fishing email, just very incompetent people at work.

more then likely they had to get as many CSR's as possible to help with the accounts. Perhaps some are less fleunt in english then others.

The email I posted above was sent to a player in Latin America with 5 figures stuck on Full Tilt Poker. They sent in their documents a week ago and have not yet received any kind of replay from support@fulltiltpoker.com.

When I got an email reqesting documents from Full Tilt. The email included my full name and my FT screen name. If you got an email that did not contain this imformation It may be a fake fishing email.
