I think you guys do not understand that the internet makes for a very efficient market.
i.e. I used to play a game like counter strike. I would always be the best among my friends and colleagues. Once i went to play online i could not compete anymore.
Poker is the same way. If you play in your home game u gonna rock. If you put the entire world in one game the sharks are gonna feed off the fish quite nicely and it will seem like all the local rockstars have become fish.
Most of what we are experiencing is simply the efficiency of the market and the new technologies that enable this efficiency (training etc)
The game has progressed extremely quickly due to the internet, training sites etc.
If you can't compete go to a crappy site and it will be easier to compete or play in a casino. But you cant get the best of both world. The bigger sites, like stars are gonna have more efficient markets and be harder to compete in.
