i just though of something promotionwise: how about a recuring bonus to have people keep their balance on FTP, like 20% of your balance every month as a clearable bonus (up to max XXX)?

seriously it would be an absolute travesty if FT didnt bring back the old rakeback system and the old bonuses etc. Thats why most of us choose them over stars initially. I for 1 wont be going back if that isnt in place. Iv never liked stars system. Its just not rewarding for social players who cant play enough to make supernova+.

The did anounce they wanted to keep FTP the same as it was before. They understood the differences it had with PS and its to their advantage to keep both sites different

The old rakeback system had flaws imo.. dodgy affiliates taking a piece of the action without really doing anything, people locked into strange affiliates that meant they could get no rakeback at all just becuase they installed the software via a particular link X years ago.

I'd rather see the whole thing scrapped with a new equivalent scheme providing rakeback to all in a fair way.

I don't care how I get rewarded for play but I'd rather get 30% rakeback directly rather than get 27% rakeback via an affiliate that take the rest giving back 1% or something in some rake race or promotion I have no interest in and/or chance of winning. The money was transferred via FT in the end anyway, so what is the difference.

I'm sure there were/are great affiliates around so I'm not saying all are bad but the whole system just didn't seem right.

Just had a thought... are all people that are against Multi entry tournaments also for a reduction of table cap, for the same reasons?

Fully agree! The old system is seriously flawed and very unfair. It provides a serious (and totally unnecessary) incentive for a large % of players to breach the TOS and create a second account (with rakeback). I also think the affiliate system scares away recreational players since the whole system seems quite shady for someone new to online poker (at least it did for me when I first started out...) In fact I started playing on stars mainly for this reason!

On the other hand, if I had been offered 30% rakeback directly from FTP automaticly I would have signed up with them first for sure. This is the time to do something about it...

wow, the DOJ is dumb. Go through all the trouble of making sure that they are the ones to pay out the funds of USA players, only to turn the entire process over to a 3rd party. Why not just allow FTP/Stars to handle this with their already proven process of doing so? Makes no sense how dumb some of the decisions are that the DOJ makes..
