I'm not sure what you mean with "help any player", I just referred to your conclusion which implied an assessment of how well Isildur played and how well he ran, obv just based on this limited sample size, not taking into account pot size etc. I'm not criticizing that at all (and I know you are aware), in fact I think looking at the big pots and their outcomes gives us a good idea of what underlying patterns are happening; all I wanted to state is that you should be careful when interpreting these statistics in regards to how well sb played/ran over that sample size, because there are so many sensitive parameters (depending on skill & variance) that influence these data, and the data becomes more noisy and therefore less reliable when the edge is small. Illustration: maybe Isildur got into a bunch of these all in spots by calling 4bets oop with marginal hands (a play which might in itself be +/-EV depending on so many factors), but flopped well and therefore these data tell us that he was more often ahead than behind when all in. Should we take this as a signal that he played well during that sample size?
