Partypoker is running a Poker Masters Online series, with daily events april out with 10k and 25k buyins, with a 50k main event. It's all under real names, not screen names, looks like this:

Something I find even more interesting is the rates that Timex's pokershares are now offering on players. This is for tomorrow's 25k event (had to make small to fit in one screenshot). Some interesting markup numbers in there imo. How about Laszlo Bujtas or Mike Watson to a markdown? Alex Foxen at... Whatever that number was. Linus and Addamo highest rated players in the world by pokershares. Limitless gets a 1.03

Addamo was smashing those 25k's on gg iirc and Linus doesn't seem to be playing much tournies these days might have something to do with it.

Sick. Pokershares just announced you can short people now for 0.08 lower than they list long for.

Sounds like they are really, really confident in how precisely they can handicap these players... I also guess it helps them hedge eitherway to just auto-print money when some people long and some people short the same players...

Can someone explain what e.g. 1.26 long and 1.18 short for Linus means?

Fun tidbit: while Linus and Addamo are rated the same in the 25k, Addamo is slightly higher rated than Linus in 10k field. I dont mean to turn this thread into a pokershares circlejerk, but I think that says something about how fine details they pay attention to

you can buy linus action for 1.26 markup or you can get paid 1.18 to fade his action

So if a bettor shorts a player for the tourney buying and that player binks the tourney the bettor owes pokershares first place money? Is this how that works?

I have never used these king of bookies but how do they collect the money from the bettor? And if you fade the action how do you win? Sry if these are just dumb questions but have no idea how this works.
