Watching a poker scene in Sneaky Pete. Preflop action seems to be raise to 5,000, call 4,500, some folds, call 10,000. One the flop the action is check, check, raise.

While watching an old Poker After Dark episode recently, the players were discussing prop bets. Doyle Brunson said he's seen people lose a prop bet that stated you had to eat a quail a day for 30 days. I don't think I've ever had quail, but why would this be so difficult ? Seems easy, but I guess not?

Anyone know why this would be so tough to do ?

Feathers are hard to swallow.

Seriously though, Doyle talked about this on his twitter feed. He said it's simply the wild taste. He has made the bet several times and nobody could stomach the taste for 30 days straight -- they have all chosen to buy out or lose the bet instead.

Seems to good to be true to me, also. It can't be that hard, there must be something else to it.

You're right, how meat is cooked/prepared can be a big deal. I remember many years ago when a friend invited my wife and I over and served us elk. We were disappointed that it didn't have a very distinctive taste because we had been told that it would. It turns out that the cook decided to prepare it to taste less "gamy" as it might otherwise be too much for us.

maybe from the most recent wsop?

he says he felt really good but no results due to the sine wave being out of sync?
this means it is all luck, right?
i never had advanced math,

so i guess he better start his poker clothing line for sine wave surfers

fwiw i don't expect this to have any impact to the online poker landscape, maybe it helps NY eventually, but probably doesn't matter much in the long run

i was moreso sharing because i'm sure the name rings a bell for a few bitter old timers around these parts

So if you were playing online poker in 2011, you are a "bitter old timer"? LOL

FWIW I am glad Preet got canned, even though it was expected and he decided to be a douche and make a spectacle out of it instead of just resigning like everyone else that was asked.

Preet was indeed the lead attorney that indicted the founders/owners of Stars, Tilt, etc. which lead to all major sites shutting down in the USA.

Who knows, this may make it easier to bring Stars back to USA nationwide.

The bitcoinchaser article basically boils down to - they might have blackjack with a 0% house edge when player has perfect strategy; other games/verticals (like sports) will have a traditional house edge.

That's hardly disruptive. There are slots in Vegas now that have a theoretical negative house edge against perfect play.

That medium article full of all kinds of nonsense I don't know where to start.

Wondering if it's possible to do p2p gambling and completely bypass the casino? For example could you program in the smart contract to say if rng > .5 send 20 ETH to player a else if rng < .5 send 20 ETH to player b

Also wondering if it's possible to program future events in smart contract so you can do 0 vig sports betting? For example say if atl wins by >7.5 send 20
ETH to player a else if they lose or win by <7.5 send 20 ETH to player b

A lot of people don't realize that the bulk of casino profits come from people who bring limited bankrolls with the intent to risk them all. House edge doesn't really matter when a person is always 5 bets away from busting and going home broke. The vast majority of the time they will give back whatever winnings they manage to secure, because it's never enough for them to actually quit and leave with.

If a 0% edge casino only had wealthy gamblers with near infinite bankrolls THEN they would have cause for concern. But with the way human beings gamble that place will clean up regardless.

I don't think you understand how edge and limited bankrolls work. If I have a limited bankroll and make big bets and go bust frequently, as long as I'm playing a low edge/no edge/player advantage game, the casino isn't too happy about my business. If I'm playing a game with a large bankroll but has a decent casino edge, they're happy as they can continually apply their edge over a longer time period.
