It would be fun, easy, offer a way to keep more money in pokerstars holding accounts and I dont think it could hurt pokerstars at all... Pros/Cons?

That's not how the stockmarket works.

they could hold an extra amount of stock that they allow to be purchased and sold through them, with little or no fee..

I think its a great idea. Although I fully submit, I have no clue how stock markets work but If I felt I had bought into something that may gain interest or hold a share. Im in.

Securities laws and regulations blah blah blah ... No.

If you want to own Amaya stock, open a discount brokerage account (no charge), get approved, fund it with a deposit of cash or existing securities you already own, buy Amaya stock with said cash or on margin against referenced securities, PROFIT!

/Is this thread the reverse "shoeshine boy" (for those that know the reference)? If so, the Market has farther to fall.

This would open the floodgates for a bunch more things to do this hence the current regulations being in place.

Who would you sell the stock to?

Amaya corporate debt (e.g. in non-securitised form) makes more sense - though why they would start paying interest on player funds which they can currently use for free is anyone's guess.

Yes, but you would need someone monitoring you to make sure you couldn't IM or text your cards - maybe you could be paired in the same room with one of your opponents so you watch each other.

You could still have a signalling system based on timing tells though.

I think there should be tables where the buy in is 100 shares of Amaya stock.

Actually although it's impractical... Maybe you could have some tax advantage by not actually having a realized gain. It would only be realized upon cashing out - it would be unrealized and you have a carry over basis until then. (This is like how hedge fund manager receive fees from their clients but gains aren't realized until they sell and get taxes as ltcg which is much lower rate).

I think that interstate compacts might be our best shot in the short term. States going it alone are realizing that even in even with a population of several million residents it's hard to get a decent player pool together.

I'm not sure how big a population you would need, but maybe if you could get a compact with a combined population of something like 50 million to start you could do something with it. My state (Michigan) has about ten million and there are many states with more people than Michigan, so it wouldn't be hard to put something like that together.

If they were to progress through a set of signals how would they ever really be caught? Yes they could be heavily suspected to the point their peers knew something was up but they could never prove it?

If this is the case what a stupid game to risk large amounts of money on or even play in a competitive setting in the first place
I think that with all of the hardware and electronics allowed at the poker table, that's almost asking for cheating. For example, if you have an amateur at the table, he could be getting real-time coaching from a railbird/poker coach/backer--delivered straight to the player's headphones.

Dehli is just dehli. Years west bengal and karnataka or bangalore has been legal. The latest news might be too late now, the online wallets, was it minimum of five years in prison if not paying taxes of it, the time limit maybe was yesterday, and old wallets will be told to tax people in india. The new 2016 needs some bigger sum before reported. The old ones need zero, and it might not make a difference if closed or not.

The one guy explaining how he takes "calculated risk" by buying broken companies and patching them up again (gambling) and then when I thought he'd draw the conclusion "you do the same" he says "you just gamble".

Wow. What a ****ing idiot. Setting aside the fact that the guy might not be profitable in any of the tournaments he wants a stake for, the fact that he outright judged it to be gambling is ******ed behavior I wouldn't expect from those people.

Given the enourmosity of the main thread and the number of posts being added, I think this might deserve a one of its own.

If some of the mods strongly disagree, I understand and would kindly ask for the post to be moved to the main thread. Thanks.
