I have never heard it pronounced different but I only lived in Japan for three years so I could be wrong

If it was saki, then it'd be pronounced as rhyming w/ hockey. Sake though should be pronounced "sah-keh.".

I'm half Japanese and took Japanese in high school, but could be wrong.

It's like how Americans pronounce Toyota as "toy-oh-ta". It's "toh-yoh-tah".

It's kind of ridiculous that some of you think saying the word "Jap" is racist. When will people start realizing words are only words and only have the power that you give them. If you don't pay them any attention or let them bother you guess what? They don't matter.
