Nobody "knows" Patrik.

I thought I did. Then I walked into his apartment one afternoon, and saw him standing over an unconscious Lebanese man. A single vein was throbbing on his forehead, and his eyes were blacker than the heart his beautiful exterior somehow managed to conceal. That was when I knew I lost him forever.

Was in Macau yesterday for some meetings and jumped into the PLO game with Durrr and a few others. Fun game with lots of mad side bets. Should be an interesting week with other big name players coming into town next few days. A few of the local regulars off playing a private game, no blinds, just a HK$20k ante per hand.

Rhubarbwp - your stakes sound far more sensible.

The poker world has been an interesting one the last few months. The Full Tilt fiasco continues to amaze those of us from within the industry. Unfortunately, can't make any particularly direct comments that I would like to make, as priorities are that players get their money back and those FT shareholders that had no idea what was going on, and were absolutely nothing to do with the **** ups from those in the know don't get screwed. Lets hope it somehow resolves itself.

Macau action continues to be the biggest in the world and whilst I'm not going to comment on how much specific people have won or lost, the quantum mentioned is about right and with Guy from Cirque apparently arriving later this week, things could go really mental.

I have just spent a week at the APT event in Goa at the Casino Royale, the first international ranking tournament that was held in India. You want soft games, go there, without a doubt the softest tournament fields ever, even I managed to luck box a side event. Classic hand I observed sums it up. UTG+1 min raised, small blind 3 bets, UTG+1 4 bets, small blind moves all in, UTG+1 calls. hands = small blind 7 2 off, UTG+1 9 2 off. I asked the UTG+1 why he called, response " I knew he was bluffing". WTF!!

I don't usually get into bad beats, especially in smaller stake tournaments, but this one has a twist that has kept our staff amused last few days. First hand of the Main event I play (I have joined at end of level 2), I limp in with 44 from the big blind and flop comes K 7 4 rainbow, guy 3 bets, I 4 bet, he moves all in, I call, he has aces. Standard, he hits a 2 outer on the turn and I'm done. Thats all well and good until the guy that bust me is disqualified from the tournament 20 minutes later for having bought in twice the same day into a non-rebuy event. He genuinely had no idea he wasn't allowed to rebuy and due to some admin glitch he was allowed to sit down twice. So not only do I get bad beat, but I get bad beat by a guy that shouldn't even have been in the tournament.

Cash games were US$10/20, 20/40, levels at which I am usually a loser as I fail to focus properly, but again they were so soft I ended up ahead. Despite various rumors I had heard, the games were straight and other than the usual horses in games and a bit of soft playing all was good and the Casino Royale Guys did a fantastic job of looking after us. Those that fancy a bit of beach and poker - Goa can be highly recommended as a bank roll building stop. Congrats to the Pokerguru guys that scooped quite a few of the tourneys as well as the Main event.

Gone slightly off track from the thread title but we are working on bringing the big game in Macau to the online arena in the first half of next year. Working through a few technical and regulatory challenges but I think we will get there and the non-believers will finally get to see a lot more US$1m+ pots in one 8 hour online session than you would in a typical month. Don't ask me for more details now, details will follow early next year.

BTW the winning hand in the Main Event was 7 2 off. About sums it up, though to be fair the money went in on the flop. When did you ever see a main event won with 7 2. Fines all round
