That's $7m prize pool vs $6m prize pool. Not a huge decline. Also, a 1200 person 5k is huge!
Means it's not crazy that they could get a 500-600 person 10k. 10ks = more prestigious, takes up fewer tables, pays more rake per table, makes it more reasonable for people come in from out of state to play, attracts more medium and high roller players.

Random circuit stops would have 5-10k mains. I don't think they'd get close to 300 for a 10k these days.
300 for a 10k is a lot! I'm not saying make every Main a 10k, but if you make some 3.5ks and some 10ks you'll probably attract a different crowd for each and come out ahead overall
