What actually probably happened is Pokerstars wanted to put their logo on the table and a HSP "brought to you by pokerstars" during the intro.

Ivey and Durrr are guaranteed to make some amazing plays and Full tilt is right in not wanting people thinking that those amazing players are "Brought to you by PStars.net"

There is no way you can possibly think Norm and Spade are the same level when it comes to comedy. As for poker knowledge, it's not even close either but I think you were referring to their comedic talent.

My first thought is who is going to develop the poker play-by-play script. Kinda like Gobbo did for Stapes on the Big Game. No way is Norm on his own during the post-production, right? There's gotta be some understanding of the hand and some "analysis". Can't be just a series of jokes.

As I understand it, Gabe provided his own analysis, even if it more than occasionally amounted to "bet for information" (and its cousin "raise to see where you're at") and other out-dated strategy concepts.

I'm sure your reputation for honesty is better than mine. How often did that happen last year when PokerStars sponsored the show? Was PokerStars on the felt last year or will it be this year as you are fabricating?

This. Norm is a friggin' genius but people don't always recognize it because of how he tends to slowplay it. If you watch him on Who Wants to be a Millionaire from years ago you can see he's got a broad knowledge set. Spade would have gotten murdered by the questions Norm breezed through.

Not everyone likes Norm's style of humor, I get that. But if you like that kind of humor he's top top.

Norm is reeally funny! BUT... havent seen any poker/commentating knowledge on his part... Gabe Kaplan & AJ Benza was the best thing for the show. It seems they just want to make it funny for big audiences. Sucks bigtime imo. HSP has been downhill since season 5. Seasons 1-4 had a great ambience, people visited the HS room, players went on their buisness went where they wanted, got berated like the time PH went to take a shower and exercise. the ambience was GREAT!!! That separated HSP from PAD. but now even propbets have a tendency to be banned and its just to "plastic" from how it used to be. RIP HSP

this all seems kinda crazy to me and honestly, if it wasnt kevmath who posted it, id assume all of this is a level. gabe will be sorely missed as far as i'm concerned, but it seems like there are just as many people who didnt like him as people who thought he was the best. the lack of durrr and ivey is also disappointing, but at least there wont be two absolute beasts who everybody is afraid to tangle with.

anyway, there's absolutely no way im ever not going to watch HSP (or any televised cash game for that matter) unless they have a table full of truly horrible players on it, so i wont bother pretending to be upset enough not to watch. but yeah, losing gabe sucks, and i dont expect this year to be that awesome.

I´m sure Norm M will be funny but the lineup is really boring. Hopefully some of the amateurs can make someting happen

We'll have to hear the kind of humor he uses in the WSOP, now in High Stakes Poker? Damn that's just wrong. Also, Galfond has been pretty horrible in HSP so far. Bring the Dangs and other exciting young players, please. What a bore fest.
