I'd say it's close between Tonkaaa and Staples for Twitch streamer. Tonkaaa has had an awesome rise and has grown the most (in viewers and as a streamer). I do think Jaime gets some credit for being a part of the big charity stream week and the 30 Days of Xmas which were both very successful campaigns. I would have a hard time deciding who to vote for, would not argue against either.

I thought it would be rigged and sexton would win 1 or 2 awards even though he played horrific heads up.

Kudos to the jury for giving those awards to Maurice Hawkins and ari Engel.

They all seem ok except I think the MOMENT OF THE YEAR was "nine high like a boss".

Sebastian Malec is from Poland, he won the EPT Barcelona. Great moment, but not really eligible for an American Poker Award.

Although I don't like it, this was actually the only 'moment' on the list. The sad thing is there are tons of 'moments' in poker. If you're not going to select a 'moment' then you should rename the category.

I disagree. Jason deserved the win. Unfortunately, it takes the media a while to catch up with trends. This award should have been around sooner and Jason should have won it. Then guys like Tonka, BP, KM, JS would get their proper due.

Carver didn't even stream much last year, in comparison to Tonka who streamed religiously and had some great results as well as boosting his viewer numbers a tonne.

Just going by this site (not sure how reliable it is)

jcarver had 5.67M views and 46.31k new followers in 2016

tonkaaaa had 3.11M views and 42.99k new followers in 2016

jamie had 2.93M views and 27.53k new followers in 2016

Also when you look at the daily average graphic jcarver is basic always the number one poker streamer when he streams

Expecting an awards ceremony which is staged by the GPI and sponsored by Pokerstars to be objective is like expecting a hungry lion to walk by a herd of antelope without stopping for lunch – it’s just not going to happen. Many of the members of the APA jury are either directly associated with either the GPL or PokerStars, have strong affiliations with them, or give them acres of media coverage. Not exactly a ‘closed shop’ but not far off it.
