People just sore that their online heroes from 10 years ago, some of whom who are fish against proper good opponents, like Nik, in a live high stakes NLHE cash game, are getting schooled and owned by someone who specialises in this format and who has a lot more tools for it in their toolbox. Even if he was born into money, it doesn't take away from his playing skill, it just means that he is properly rolled for the game,
something which another one of your heroes, Ben Lamb, didn't look to be, going by his face after losing a coupla buyins at the Lodge.
He looked like his goldfish, cat and dog had all died on the same day. Weak. Very, very weak.
Yeah he specializes in getting to play against strictly ******s an the occasional avg reg and rare good one.

You morons judging this guys skill/results in the softest games on the planet lmao.
I got no problem with benba but lets be honest he was never lauded as some elite NL live cash game player. But to claim nik is one is even more of a stretch. You all just love to try to be different.

Nik is going to get SMOKED challenging people heads up to 500/1k and chit. If he wants to play 500/1k PLO hu he has action from me.

Some NVG posters now also appear to be on tilt!

Hey, don't shoot the messenger... I'm just the chairman of The Nik Airball Fanclub, that's all.

If you need to vent, here's my virtual chip stack for you to knock over with your finger.

Do you moron think that the Lodge game was so soft that it could be included in your imaginary softest games of planet?

I don’t know who you are, you always claim to be some live cash game specialist. Do you have similar personality in the live environment or are you just blowing some steam here?

That Lodge game wasn't super soft, but every Friday when he plays at Hustler he probably is in the softest game on earth regardless of stakes.

He sure been eating real good in those 4 years.

So this is what we doing now? Hanging off the nuts of investment bankers? Gimme a break. I fell in love with this game because of people like Stu Ungar not for a wall street banker that picked up poker in his spare time.

Yeah hated him at first. He does make the show better. Still, think the kid has been sunRunnin for year so he's cockier than he should be. Once variance takes sh*t on him, the humble pie will kick in. For now, arrogance is full steam.

The older I get the more I’m willing to put hands on a loud mouth bully. Too many people have never gotten an ass kicking for their behavior. Had a guy at my local card room pulling similar antics. Small business owner manlet who thought being able to dust off 5 buyins at 2-5nl entitled him to act like a prick to other players. Many others tolerated the behavior since he is a fish. Had enough of his crap one day when he knocked over my stack. Asked him to go outside, he refused and instead got up and screamed at me and the floor for threatening him. I gave him a Rick James power slap since I knew this guy was a bitch, stared at him for 10 seconds to see if he wanted to throw, picked up my chips and left. Called the owner of the club the following day to see how long I was going to be banned for. The owner told me the guy called the cops, got felted in the meantime, left, cops show up, see what happened and laugh, don’t consider it a crime since the guy had messed with my “property” and was screaming at me. Owner gave me a week off to maintain a semblance of fairness.

Never claimed anything of the sort, always just offered to play.

Thanks for being an idiot and proving me right by literally only being able to mention one game where he played in a non exactly whale lineup.

Yeah he's gonna get absolutely demolished at some point. Why not play him at NL if you think you could get HS action from him though? I really think his poker lifespan will be very short and there's a non-zero chance he doesn't last this WSOP if he plays enough hours in big enough games in Vegas so if you're in a position to get him may as well try to before that happens even if it's not you're preferred game...I don't think he would play PLO.

Pretty impressive how good Nik runs on stream though I give him props for that.

The maestro didn't play his best on last night's pre-recorded "as live" HCL stream, punted off about $50K in one pot against the wrong opponent, Mike X, who is a station, on a bad runout for him, Nik, and then went on "play way too many hands tilt" (which is the only tilt Nik has). But once he got the play too many hands tilt out of his system, he steadied the ship, started to play better and pulled things back from a peak low of about a $135K loss, to an end of session loss of $33K, which is peanuts to the main man Nik.

Also notable, is what an average or below average reg Johnnie Vibes is. Not impressed by him at all. Plays like a nit, plays like scared money and seems very poor at value betting the river. Not a fish, but way below the calibre of Nik. The more I watch Nik, the more his playing style reminds of that of Garrett Adelstein. Three main things that are similar to Garrett: 1. He 3 bets wide in position pre, trusting his post flop skills and positional advantage to give him an edge, even when at the bottom of his 3 betting range. 2. He often checks the turn OOP when he knows he's miles ahead, setting up a 1.5x to 2.5x river jam lead. 3. He balances this value play by 2x to 2.5x ing his third barrel bluffs on the river. Garrett does all three of these things too. I think Nik is slightly better than Garrett at thin value betting the turn and river but Garrett is better than Nik at making big laydowns on the river, although Nik is good at that part of the game too, but can improve at it. Mariano is trying to play like Garrett, and mostly does, however, Mariano does so by simply copying the technique of Garrett, but Nik does it more with natural flair.

Not sure if Nik will ever rid himself of the play too many hands tilt, but as long as he's aware he's doing it and keeps pots relatively small when he's in that frame of mind, then it won't do him too much damage. But it is a leak, so as chairman of your fan club can you please fix it if possible. Going for a walk might be better, or if you need to go on play to many hands tilt, then limp a lot pre and pot control post, don't try to force it, which is what you do, and it nearly always loses, because opponents let you do their betting for them when you are on that type of tilt.

I know it's a long shot and possibly even impossible, but Nik may be an early version of the perfect poker player of the future. Here's why:

Nik has demonstrated that he is very competent in the area of "street poker" (psychology, tilt influence, table banter, making intuitive reads, etc.). But it turns out that it is also true that he is a practicing investment banker with a degree in managerial accounting. This shows that he may be also good with business numbers, especially in terms of how strategy decisions impact equity. In other words, he is both a streetfighter and a nerd. He is essentially a Negreanu/Adelstein/Deeb/Hellmuth and a Chidwick/Koon/Haxton/Jungleman all rolled into one.

Sure, he's a Trust Fun Baby but that does not mean that he may also be the Perfect Poker Player. Just saying.

I'm actually considering referring to Nik Airball as "Perfect Poker Player" from now on.

dont watch the lodge a lot but i did watch the bert and ernie game and i would say that game was soft as ****. Thats kuz or kutz or whatever dude is one of the worst poker players ive ever seen. Still not as bad as HCL though. Most every players on HCL or as bad or worse. Now that gman and andy stacks are gone i would say HCL has the lowest overall quality of play. Only stream that competes imo is best bet, but thats literally drunks playing 1/3
