He is still about $2100 short according to the Children's Hospital of Oakland, at least, that was the case the last I had checked a few months ago and I was told I would get a call if any more came in from him. I was working with their legal department to get an official letter from them stating no money was received by them or the doctor (that he said he gave it to) until after its MIA status was made public last July and he finally donated the $4K in mid-August. However, they have more important things to do so I decided to not press the issue at the time. I still think it is going to happen (the letter, that is).

I am pretty sure some stuff has been proven, although I'm not 100% up on it. I think it has just happened SO many times, you can't just give the guy a walk. Saying he's unorganized or whatever is probably his only real play in a situation like this, what can he really say when he's caught over and over trying to do something shady? Like he says he'll give that money to charity expecting noone to check up, someone checks so his only out is "oops I forgot" basically.

The dude just knows how to work the community, he loves posting under tons of usernames and finding ways back after he is banned time and again. The thing the guy grinding satties with him mentioned about him theorizing the best way to scam investors is pretty telling, stuff like that isn't what honest players are thinking of all the time.

I would just love to know whether he would have told investors he busted day 1 if someone hadn't actually figured out he didn't play and posted it here first.

I'm not 100% sure how approval for the marketplace works, but the gist is basically that the guys in charge of it do a ton of work to try to keep scammers completely out of the marketplace (not let them in with warnings) without being potentially libelous. They might've screwed up here, but I think 2p2's system is pretty solid (and it's amazing that some mods are actualyl willing to go through the hassel of making it work).

Oh, and to any MOD, is there a way to tell who gave Nick the custom undertitle. Because if there is that MOD ought to make good on losses in his selling action Main Event thread. The guy was banned by Deeb for a reason.

He was banned for being a prick, not for scamming.

That's right, he was BANNED. Then he opened up another account and called up one of his MOD buddies for an undertitle. And rather than banning him again, that MOD said OK. You can say he was banned for being a prick, but it was at the peak of the whole ripping off the Hospital thing.

I'm pretty sure the undertitle isn't quite what it seems. I'm sure it was handed out to him to ease confusion with the -real- bunner (whos twitter account used to be "funnerwitbunner") It also looks as though he has a different IP address than he had when he was Mi_turtle.

I don't think the marketplace mods screwed up, they probably didn't even know it was Rainey.

I would be interested to know which mod said it was ok to start a new account though. I thought it was a 2+2 rule that if your banned you need the permission of the mod who banned you to open a new account?

Obv mods are not liable even if they did screw up, its clearly stated in the terms. Mistakes are bound to happen and people invest at their own risk.
