I always thought HU would die before the ringgames

But maybe HU games will have a renaissance because you at least donīt have to worry about collusion.
(of course you can still play a bot without knowing it, but at least you are safe from holecard sharing)

I just laughed, as if there was ever any question of whether Bart was cheating!!

It wouldn't surprise me if employees of PokerStars knew about the bots running...

Bots still pay rake, don't they? Amaya is in the hole for $4-5 billion, aren't they?

The only incentive Amaya has to catch colluders and bots is because when we honest players find out we've been screwed and cheated, we're usually not very happy about it.

Bad publicity is what drives Amaya to stop bots and colluders. But if the players don't notice the bots or colluders, then Amaya certainly has no incentive to do anything. They don't even have incentive to LOOK FOR THEM. They simply wait until the players complain, then they act as if "Our top-notch security team is onto them". Yeah right.

You're thinking of ipoker... Stars though, they're just totally useless and their detection team are a joke seeing as multiple HS Regs reported the accounts to them before and they did nothing.

How does a bot ring come up with fake identities for all of the accounts they are making so that they can cash out?

I donīt see a single of the suspected accounts playing currently (PLO50-PLO200). Could be a coincidence, because not many tables are running but Iīd rather see that as the sign that the stars security department finally acted on the overwhelming evidence.

You can buy a fake passport in Russia (or even the UK) for much less than the price of a $100 buy-in.

I'm sure there's no shortage of poor Russians willing to lend their home adress and passport picture to someone for a hundo

they would be arrested, ive seen it before. ive never heard of jailtime but im sure its happened for repeat offenders. in live casino poker no one really cheats the other players, its not worth the time and risk, they use their "skills" to set up a jackpot which pays in the $100,000 range.

Botting cant be stopped online, its game over im afraid, we are in the end times of onlline poker as we know it, it prob cant even be stopped live. we are prob less than a decade away from people implanting computer technology in their bodies, are these now bots?

very strict laws will slow deter the "hacker kid" type botters for a moment but where theres millions to be made someone will always do it. my advice, Play hard while you still can, dont waste too much at strip clubs!

pretty sure the regs would allow bart to do anything to get him to sit in the commerce pot limit omaha game.

yeh there will be 15 new bots running that will be undetected until they have massive samples though. why continue with the existing ones when they have been rumbled. few roubles to ivan from the pub and we have a new account running in his name

As I already posted in the thread in HSPLO the bot operators have a big incentive to continue with the existing ones. At least two of the suspected accounts have SNE rakeback, which is at least 100k $ / account rakeback for the owner. If he starts a new bot with data from ivan from the pub he is starting at the bottom of the VIP scheme.

In general I agree with you though, the bot operators probably wonīt give up and will be back with other accounts. But nevertheless the banning of a few accounts with high rakeback will hurt their bottomline.
(if the accounts are really banned and not only were offline today for some unrelated reason)

That kind of technology for live play is well over 10 years away, barring unprecedented developments. Once we figure out how to get quantum computers that small, maybe a few years after that, but we don't know how to make them at all yet. We are pretty much nearing the limit of how much we can shrink current technology. Some kind of contacts with card marking will probably always be the greater threat.

Funny how in todays world. There will be 15 new players playing mid stakes PLO. They never start playing the micros and grind their way up over a few years to learn the game and have a bankroll. They never had previous accounts. They just show up out of thin air and play close to game theory PLO, never tilt off a few buy ins playing other variation of poker (not even NLHE) or the occasional tournament, and are instant winners. They open an account and are instantly working towards SNE. Somehow Pokerstars "security" doesn't notice??WTF

Its not like there is a new pool of mid stakes PLO players that just learn the game and have it dialled. Those days a long gone. Or maybe I'm wrong and they now teach game theory in Russian high school.

Pokerstars is a joke. They knew/know exactly what was happening with bots and did not give a ****.

Old AI tactic, much like the Turing Test.

Humans have a sense of humor.

Bots do not.
