Simply:

Every bracelet winner from the previous year plays in the consecutive year's 'Tournament of Champions' (WSOPE included/excluded?).

The prizepool is of relevant proportions and it encourages players to get bracelets (instead of bracelet bets) to get a freeroll into the next years event. This also keeps the current players in the game in the limelight, as opposed to the 2010 system where we will probably see plenty of 2003-2005 names that the public recognise and are voting for.

That is not a bad idea. Would include a lot of no-names or almost-no-names in it.

How about the previous years' winners play in satellite to the main TOC event? Award a smaller prize on the satellite and enough places in the TOC and it could work and prevent the TOC from becoming the who's-who of 2004.

At least your lights are on up there but it just wouldnt work, too many no names, too many lottery winners

The TOC is to spark interest, its televised to get peoply watching the game. It needs its big stars to get people watching
